New Delhi : The Special Police Unit for Women & Children (SPUWAC), Delhi Police, organized an impactful awareness programme on “SASHAKTI” Women Empowerment Programme at Blue Hall, German Embassy.

The demonstration showcased practical, easy-to-learn Self-Defence techniques designed especially for women and girls to enhance their confidence and empower them to react effectively in difficult situations.

The trained instructors of SPUWAC performed real-life scenario-based tactics, highlighting the importance of awareness, quick response, and presence of mind during threatening situations.

A detailed discussion with Ambassador Mr. Ackermann, students of Miranda House college and Women Cab Drivers (Sakha Women with Wheels) was held on safety measures for women in public spaces, covering practical steps such as improved infrastructure, responsible community participation, digital safety awareness, and creation of safer public transport and workplace environments.

The programme reaffirmed a shared commitment to enhancing women’s safety, strengthening prevention strategies, and ensuring that every woman can move freely, without fear.
