Sardar@150 Unity March Emerges as a Nationwide Symbol of Unity and Youth Power

Over 10 lakh participants join 842 padyatras across India as Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya calls the initiative the ‘heartbeat of a united nation’.

To mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, through MY Bharat, is spearheading the Sardar@150 Unity March, a nationwide padyatra celebrating national unity, civic consciousness and youth participation. The campaign—rooted in the ideals of Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat—has witnessed an overwhelming response from all corners of the country.

Launched on 6 October 2025 by Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, along with Minister of State Smt. Raksha Khadse, the two-year-long commemorative initiative (2024–2026) honours the life and legacy of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, Dr. Mandaviya highlighted the unprecedented national enthusiasm.
From Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Kutch to Kohima, lakhs of people have walked together for national unity. This march is not just an event—it is the heartbeat of a united nation,” he said. He emphasised that the padyatra carries the messages of Swachhata, Swadeshi, and Aatmanirbharta, symbolising the country’s commitment to self-reliance and collective responsibility.

Massive Ground Participation

The district-level padyatras, which began on 31 October 2025, have already covered 471 districts, engaging over 10 lakh people and more than 11,000 institutions, including universities, colleges, NGOs and youth organisations. A total of 842 padyatras at the district and Assembly Constituency levels have been conducted so far.

Some states—including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Assam, Uttarakhand, and Andhra Pradesh—recorded particularly high mobilisation. Major gatherings took place in Delhi, Junagadh (Gujarat), and Keonjhar (Odisha), drawing crowds of 15,000, 12,000, and 10,000 participants, respectively.

The North East Zone alone completed 96 padyatras, while Jammu & Kashmir held 14, and Ladakh 3, demonstrating widespread participation across diverse regions. Participants took pledges for Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Nasha Mukt Bharat, while Swadeshi product stalls along padyatra routes highlighted local entrepreneurship and self-reliance.

Journey to Gujarat: The Pravah Routes

Ahead of the National Padyatra, district representatives from across India will travel to Gujarat along four designated Pravah routes—Ganga, Yamuna, Narmada, and Godavari—originating from Delhi, Jaipur, Nagpur, and Mumbai. This leg will feature youth dialogues, market outreach, coaching institute interactions, yoga sessions, cleanliness drives, and tree plantation activities.

National Padyatra: 26 November–6 December 2025

The National Padyatra is scheduled to begin on 26 November 2025 from Karamsad, the family home of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, culminating on 6 December at the Statue of Unity. Spanning nearly 190 km over 11 days, the march will witness participation from Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, Governors, MPs, and eminent personalities from various fields.

The route will feature 150 thematic stops, showcasing exhibitions, cultural performances, and community engagements inspired by Sardar Patel’s vision. Daily Sardar Sabhas will explore themes such as cooperative movements, Bardoli Satyagraha, administrative leadership, constitutional values, and national integration.

Every evening, Gram Sabhas will bring together villagers for cultural presentations and community interactions, reflecting the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.

With registrations underway on the MY Bharat Portal, youth from across India are being encouraged to join this historic march, carrying forward the message of unity, self-reliance, and nation-building inspired by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
