DC Abhishek Meena directs officials to monitor rain-affected areas and ensure flood prevention measures

Control room functional 24x7; strict instructions for timely water drainage and public safety

Rewari: In view of continuous rainfall, Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Meena has directed all concerned departmental officials to closely monitor rain-affected areas to prevent waterlogging in the district. Teams have been formed by the administration to keep round-the-clock surveillance of flood-like conditions and ensure public safety. On Wednesday, DC Abhishek Meena personally inspected drainage arrangements in villages Kheda Alampur, Palhawas, Pehrajwas, and other areas.

He instructed irrigation, panchayat, public health, and urban local bodies’ officials to immediately implement drainage measures wherever waterlogging occurs. DC cautioned that waterlogging not only causes temporary inconvenience but also increases the risk of diseases like dengue and malaria.

He directed that all pump sets remain functional, sewer lines remain unclogged, and tractor-driven pump sets be used for regular cleaning of drains during the rainy season. Officials were instructed to stay alert and take timely preventive action. He also informed that a 24×7 control room has been set up at the Mini Secretariat for disaster management, with staff deployed in round-the-clock duty shifts. He emphasized that the administration’s top priority is to ensure the safety of both people and livestock, with well-organized preventive steps in place. He assured that Rewari district administration is taking rainfall and flood-related risks seriously, maintaining high vigilance to safeguard life and property.
