New Delhi, July 11, 2025- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the city holds immense potential in sectors such as tourism, education, culture, and start-ups. The government aims to transform Delhi into the country’s most dynamic city through robust policy measures and active public participation. She added, “Our dream is that whenever a foreign tourist visits India, they should not return without visiting Delhi.”

The Chief Minister was addressing the ‘DELIGHT for Delhi’ Summit, organized by the Delhi Tourism Department and Invest India. The summit aims to position Delhi as a leading city under the vision of Driving Experiential Leadership, Innovative Growth, and High-Impact Tourism (DELIGHT). The event saw participation from Delhi Government Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra, representatives of leading investor companies, policymakers, tourism experts, and entrepreneurs.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that Delhi is not just the capital of India but also the soul of the nation. It is a city that embodies rich culture, diverse heritage, and glorious history. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi today represents a remarkable confluence of modernity and tradition. Iconic destinations such as Bharat Mandapam, YashoBhoomi, the Prime Ministers’ Museum, and the National War Memorial have helped establish Delhi as a global cultural and historical tourism center.

She said that the  Prime Minister has consistently prioritized the development of tourism in the country, and the Delhi Government too is committed to taking the capital to new heights through coordinated efforts across sectors.

The Chief Minister further said that Delhi possesses all the elements that can attract tourists from across the globe, be it history, culture, art, music, cuisine, or heritage. What is needed now is a powerful platform and impactful global presentation to bring Delhi’s richness to the world stage. Just as tourism is expanding in other Indian states, it is crucial to firmly establish Delhi’s place on the global tourism map.

She emphasized that the Delhi Government is working round-the-clock to enhance the city’s image through cleanliness, beautification, and overall development, so that tourists from around the world can come and experience the culture and history of India. She expressed her satisfaction with the organization of the investor summit under the leadership of Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra, where participants from around the world showed great interest in connecting with Delhi and promoting tourism in India. Reiterating her vision, she said, “Our dream is that whenever a foreign tourist visits India, they should not leave without experiencing Delhi.”

On this occasion, Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra said that Delhi is no longer just a capital city but is emerging as a center of global tourism, cultural richness, and innovation. He added that this summit is not merely an event to promote tourism but a strategic platform to connect Delhi with global investment, innovation, and cultural leadership.

He said, “Today, we are gathering insights and suggestions from experienced participants from across the country and abroad to prepare a strong and practical roadmap that will help develop Delhi as a global tourism destination. Through this summit, we have gained clarity and direction on 8 to 10 key decisions that will benefit the people of Delhi in the near future and open new opportunities for investors.”

“Delhi, with its fusion of heritage, culture, and modern infrastructure, is emerging as a safe, profitable, and sustainable destination for investment. I invite all investors to be a part of this transformation of Delhi,” he concluded.
