Modi underscored Bihar’s historical contribution to India, citing its legacy as the land of Chandragupta Maurya and Chanakya, and praised the state’s resilience in overcoming past challenges such as Maoist activities and infrastructural deficiencies under previous administrations. He reaffirmed that the rapid development of Bihar remains a priority for the NDA government at the Centre.

The Prime Minister also highlighted major transportation initiatives, including the modernization of Gaya Railway Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, improved rail connectivity with Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains, and the construction of the Aunta–Simaria bridge on NH-31. This 8.15 km bridge, including a 1.86 km six-lane section over the Ganga, will significantly reduce travel time and facilitate trade and pilgrimage.
In energy, Modi inaugurated the Buxar Thermal Power Plant (660 MW), adding to the state’s electricity generation capacity and supporting industrial and domestic needs. In healthcare, he inaugurated the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre in Muzaffarpur, offering modern oncology facilities including ICUs, operation theatres, and advanced labs.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated urban infrastructure and water projects under AMRUT 2.0, including sewerage treatment plants and water supply networks in Aurangabad, Bodhgaya, Jehanabad, Barahiya, Lakhisarai, and Jamui, aimed at improving sanitation, clean water access, and overall urban living standards.
Additionally, two new trains were flagged off: the Amrit Bharat Express connecting Gaya to Delhi, enhancing passenger convenience, and the Buddhist Circuit Train between Vaishali and Koderma, promoting tourism and religious travel.

Highlighting governance and transparency, Modi stressed the importance of anti-corruption measures, including proposed legislation covering all public representatives. He also announced the launch of a Demography Mission to monitor and manage infiltrators, asserting that the government is committed to protecting Bihar’s employment and resources for its citizens.
The event was attended by Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Union Ministers including Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Giriraj Singh, Chirag Paswan, Nityanand Rai, and Ram Nath Thakur, among other dignitaries.

Symbolic handovers under PMAY-Gramin and PMAY-Urban were also conducted, marking the completion of homes for thousands of beneficiaries and fulfilling long-held aspirations for many families in the state.
