From Financial Exclusion to Empowerment: PM’s Message
11 Years of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana

New Delhi- Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorated the completion of 11 years of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), describing it as a landmark initiative that has transformed the financial landscape of the country.

Launched in 2014, the scheme was envisioned to bring every household into the fold of formal banking. Over the past decade, it has emerged as a cornerstone of financial inclusion, enabling millions of citizens to access banking facilities, credit, insurance, and direct benefit transfers.

Marking the anniversary, the Prime Minister highlighted how the initiative has empowered the most marginalized sections of society. “From financial exclusion to empowerment, the journey of Jan Dhan Yojana has given dignity and self-reliance to countless families across India,” he remarked.

He further emphasized that connecting the last mile with financial services had strengthened the foundation of the nation. “When the poorest are integrated into the banking system, the entire country progresses together,” he said.

The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect the continuing significance of PMJDY in ensuring that financial services reach even the remotest corners of India, making it one of the largest and most successful financial inclusion programs in the world.
