The Impressive TimesFaridabad, July 31 — In anticipation of the upcoming state-level observance of ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Dr. Krishan Lal Middha conducted a comprehensive review of the preparations in Faridabad on Thursday. The state-level event, set to be held on August 14, will witness the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini as the chief guest.
Dr. Middha, during his one-day visit, inspected two major venues proposed for the commemorative event—Sector-16 Anaj Mandi and NIT Dussehra Ground. Accompanied by key local representatives and administrative officials, he assessed the ongoing arrangements, including seating, security, stage setup, entry-exit protocols, parking, and public convenience facilities. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that all aspects of the event are executed in a well-organized and respectful manner, keeping in mind the gravity of the occasion.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Middha highlighted the historical significance of the event. “This remembrance day will serve as a powerful reminder of the tragedies and hardships faced during the Partition of 1947. It is essential that the new generation remains connected to this chapter of history, not just through books, but through emotional and cultural remembrance,” he said.
He further added that Haryana, being home to thousands of families who migrated during the Partition, holds a deep connection with those memories. The state-level program aims to honor the sacrifices, struggles, and resilience of those who were displaced and affected by the Partition.
The inspection saw the presence of several dignitaries, including Ballabgarh MLA and former Minister Mool Chand Sharma, Badkhal MLA Dhanesh Adhlakha, NIT MLA Satish Fagana, former Minister Manish Grover, former Education Minister Seema Trikha, and former MLAs Narendra Gupta and Tek Chand Sharma. Also present were Ajay Gaur, former Political Secretary to the CM, Faridabad District BJP President Pankaj Poojan Rampal, and Ballabgarh BJP District President Sohanpal Singh, among others.
The local administration has been directed to complete all logistical and infrastructural preparations well before August 14. Special emphasis is being placed on crowd management, sanitation, emergency medical services, and cultural performances to ensure the event remains both solemn and impactful.
With preparations in full swing, Faridabad is set to host a respectful and historically significant commemoration that will echo the voices of millions affected during one of the most turbulent times in India’s history.
