Around 7.07 pc voting in first two hours in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 13 , 2024 : An estimated 7.07 percent of 17.4 lakh voters exercised their franchise during the first two hours of polling for the prestigious Srinagar Parliamentary seat on Monday during the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections. An official spokesman said 5.07 percent of
the votes were polled during the first two hours of the voting for the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat.
The highest 9.62 percent votes were polled at Chadoora, followed by 8.83 percent at Ganderbal
and 8.30 percent at the Charar-e-Sharief parliamentary segment during the first two hours.
Khanyar in downtown Srinagar registered ‘0’ percent during the first two hours of the polling
being held for the Srinagar Parliamentary constituency.
Similarly, 7.89 percent of votes were polled at Kangan, 7.03 percent at Shopian, 6.70 percent at
Khansahib, 5.14 percent at Pulwama, 5.87 percent at Rajpora, 4.61 percent at Pampore, 3.70
percent in Tral, 3.25 percent at Zadibal, 3.23 percent at Lal Chowk, 3.61 percent at central
Shalteng, 2.77 Channapora, 4.70 at Eidgah, 2.10 percent Habbakadal, and 3.55 percent
Hazratbal.
As many as 24 candidates are contesting for the Srinagar Lok Sabha, and among them the most
prominent are National Conference candidate Aga Ruhullah Syed, Peoples Democratic Party
youth leader Waheed-Ur-Rehman Parra, and Apni Party’s Ashraf Mir.
