Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh Conducts Inspection and Public Hearing in Bawana J.J. Colony

New Delhi: 5 July : Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh visited the J.J. Colony in Bawana, located in North-West Delhi, on Saturday and held a public hearing.

During the public interaction, local residents raised concerns and gave suggestions regarding the laying of new water pipelines, construction and repair of roads and drains, regular sanitation, and beautification of parks.

The Minister appealed for public cooperation in the fight against drug addiction. He emphasized that addiction not only deteriorates a person physically and mentally but also weakens them socially. He said,

“Addiction not only distances a person from their family but also leads to the loss of social respect. If someone wastes their hard-earned money on drugs, it directly affects their children’s education and future.”

Social welfare Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Delhi Government is fully committed to making the state drug-free. Every possible effort is being made to root out the drug menace, with concrete steps being taken through inter-departmental coordination.

The Minister issued clear instructions to the officials of the concerned departments present at the site to ensure that basic amenities in Bawana Colony are provided at the earliest. He stressed the need to prioritize road repairs, regular cleaning, and access to clean drinking water.

Ravinder Indraj affirmed that the holistic development of all slums and colonies is a key priority of the government. With public cooperation, Delhi can truly become a developed city.
