Delhi Police Launches City-Wide Anti-Drug Awareness Drive Across 15 Districts During ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Pakhwada’

New Delhi : Taking inspiration from “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Union Home Minister Amit Shah Ji and as per the directions of Vinai Kumar Saxena, LG, Delhi to make Delhi drug-free by 2027, Delhi Police, under the leadership of Shri Sanjay Arora, Commissioner of Police Delhi, is on a steadfast mission to achieve this target.

Aligning with the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign) and Delhi Police’s ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy towards drugs the Public Relation Branch of Delhi Police in coordination with the Districts, today held a city-wide Public Awareness campaign across all 15 territorial Police districts in Delhi with its main event at Central Park, Connaught Place, during the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Bharat Pakhwada” from 12th  June to 26th  June 2025. The aim of the campaign was to bring together citizens in the fight against menace of drug abuse.

This city-wide campaign was outlined by Sh. Sanjay Tyagi, IPS, Additional CP/PRO. The core idea behind the campaign was to communicate the message to a large number of audiences through a coordinated campaign and to encourage citizens to participate in the fight against drug abuse. The campaign was held in coordination with the District DCsP of all 15 districts. Nodal officers from PRO coordinated the campaign activities under the supervision of Sh. Ranjay Atrishya, ACP/APRO.

During the campaign at the places, awareness message against Drug Abuse was conveyed through various engaging activities including:

  • Nukkad Nataks
  • Display of short films
  • Distribution of informative material for public awareness
  • Display of educational posters and standees at the venues
  • Painting exhibition to spread message on drug abuse
  • Spreading awareness message through Jansampark Vahan of Delhi Police Public Relation Office.

The campaign was meticulously planned and the venues with high footfall were chosen to spread the message among as many people as possible:

The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed globally on June 26 to raise awareness about the consequences of drug abuse and illicit trafficking. It serves as a reminder of the devastating effects of the drugs on health and well-being.
