NEW DELHI, 26 JUNE: Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, DPIIT, chaired a high‑level review meeting on June 24, 2025, to assess the status of major infrastructure projects in Jharkhand, Sikkim, Nagaland, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh. The meeting focused on resolving critical issues and expediting project implementation through closer collaboration between central ministries, state authorities, and project proponents, facilitated by the Project Monitoring Group (PMG).

The review highlighted the Patratu Thermal Power Station Expansion Project (Phase‑I) in Jharkhand. In Arunachal Pradesh, the 2,880 MW Dibang Hydropower Project being developed by NHPC was spotlighted. Upon its completion in February 2032, it will feature India’s tallest dam, generate 11,223 million units of clean energy annually, aid flood control, and provide 13% free power to the state.

The Kohima Bypass Road in Nagaland, developed by NHIDCL, aims to decongest Kohima, enhance connectivity, and boost trade, tourism, and regional integration. Additionally, a review of a private sector project by GeoEnpro Petroleum Limited in Arunachal Pradesh emphasized the state’s role in facilitating its timely implementation.

Shri Bhatia reaffirmed the DPIIT’s commitment to institutional strengthening of PMG and urged authorities to adopt a proactive approach. He encouraged private proponents to utilize PMG (https://pmg.dpiit.gov.in/) for addressing pending issues, ensuring timely project execution, and bolstering ease of doing business across the country, fostering a favorable climate for investment and sustainable growth.
