Raksha Mantri Unveils ‘Voice of the Nation’: 51 Speeches by President Murmu in Second Year

New Delhi, 23 June : On June 23, 2025, Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh released ‘Wings to Our Hopes (Volume-II)’, a curated collection of 51 speeches delivered by President Droupadi Murmu during the second year of her term, from August 2023 to July 2024. The book, available in Hindi, English, and e-version, was unveiled at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, in the presence of Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting L. Murugan.

In his address, the Raksha Mantri called the compilation a reflection of the essence of the Government’s vision for making India a developed nation by 2047. “This book will be a guiding light for building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ with progressive ideas, rooted in heritage,” he said, highlighting President Murmu’s deep understanding of diversity and sensitivity towards the underprivileged. According to him, this collection captures the President’s thoughts across domains — culture, religion, literature, science, and education — making it relevant for future generations.

Shri Rajnath Singh emphasized several core messages inspired by the President’s speeches, referring to them as national priorities. These include heritage-driven development, prioritizing morality in public and personal life, nurturing a selfless service mindset, making the justice system more people-centric, fostering innovation, and embracing ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ to shape the global order. He lauded the President as an example of women-led development and recalled the military’s successful Operation Sindoor, conducted under her leadership as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. He added, “Through her life and words, President Murmu exemplifies courage, resilience, spirituality, and the belief that education and equal opportunity can transform lives.”

Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw expressed that the book captures contemporary issues from the lens of the nation’s ‘First Citizen’, making it a valuable resource for understanding the ideals guiding India. He recalled an inspiring moment when President Murmu visited the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities in Dehradun, highlighting her compassion, simplicity, and deep sense of service.

Published by the Publications Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, ‘Wings to Our Hopes (Volume-II)’ captures the evolving discourse on governance, inclusivity, heritage, and national aspirations. The event was also attended by Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Shri Prabhat and Principal Director General, Publications Division, Shri Bhupendra Kainthola, along with senior officials from both ministries.

This book serves as a beacon for shaping a hopeful, inclusive, and progressive future for the nation.
