New Delhi, 21 June : In a significant stride toward Delhi’s green mobility goals, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa visited the Mercedes‑Benz Global Star showroom in Green Park on Thursday to review the newly installed cutting-edge 120 kW DC fast charger for Mercedes‑Benz electric vehicles. This state-of-the-art charger can power an EV from 0% to 80% in just 60 minutes, representing a major milestone in the capital’s journey toward sustainable transportation.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta called the initiative a vital step toward Delhi’s clean‑energy ambitions. She praised Mercedes‑Benz Global Star for supporting the city’s electrification efforts and emphasized that robust EV infrastructure is crucial for curbing air pollution, especially in Delhi’s severe winter smog season.

Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said under the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi and CM Rekha Gupta, Delhi continues to set benchmarks for green transportation. He highlighted projects like this fast‑charging station as paving the way for widespread EV adoption in the city.

Representing Mercedes‑Benz Global Star, Chairman Subhash Dhingra underlined the brand’s global commitment to carbon‑neutrality by 2039. He stated that this fast‑charging installation showcases their dedication to clean‑energy mobility in India, aligning with both national and international sustainability goals.

Speaking from the company’s leadership, Managing Director Mandeep Dhingra praised the environment cultivated by PM Modi and CM Rekha Gupta, which he says fosters innovation and sustainability in the auto sector.
