NEW DELHI, 21 JUNE: The Delhi Police Headquarters came alive with energy and discipline as officers and personnel gathered to celebrate the International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2025. This annual event, celebrated globally since 2015, honors the ancient Indian practice of Yoga—a holistic approach to physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

The United Nations declared 21st June as the International Day of Yoga following a historic address by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi, at the UN General Assembly in 2014. The day, which coincides with the summer solstice, symbolizes harmony between humanity and nature. Continuing its commitment to wellness and stress management within the force, the Welfare Unit of Delhi Police, under the supervision of Sh. Atul Katiyar, Special Commissioner of Police (Welfare), organized a large-scale Yoga session at the lush green lawns of Delhi Police Headquarters, Jai Singh Road, New Delhi.

The event was graced by Sh. Sanjay Arora, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, who participated as the Chief Guest. His presence served as an inspiration for officers across all ranks. The event saw the active involvement of senior officers including Special Commissioners, Joint Commissioners, and a large number of senior officers and police personnel.

The early morning session featured expert Yoga instructors who led participants through a series of asanas, pranayama (breathing techniques), and relaxation practices, all aligned with the Common Yoga Protocol issued for the occasion. In total, 432 officers and personnel took part in the session, reaffirming Delhi Police’s dedication to fostering health, resilience, and mindfulness within the force.

The celebration not only highlighted the importance of physical and mental fitness, but also reinforced the Delhi Police’s role as a forward-thinking and wellness-conscious organization.
