Delhi Crime Branch Rescues Two Missing Minors, Nabs Suspects from Madhya Pradesh and Punjab

NEW DELHI, 18 JUNE:  FACTS OF THE FIRST CASE:

The victim (age 17 years) was reported kidnapped since 01.05.2025 from the area of PS Okhla Industrial Area, Delhi. The family members tried to locate the victim and, after failing to do so, lodged a complaint on 02.05.2025. The incident became a matter of serious concern due to the minor age of the victim and her non-tracing for about six weeks.
INFORMATION,TEAM & OPERATION:

Being the Nodal Agency of Delhi Police, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Crime Branch, comprising Inspector Virender Kumar, HC Anuj, and W/HC Sukanya, took up the matter due to its sensitivity. The team worked relentlessly and collected information from various individuals, suspects, and secret informers.
Preliminary enquiry revealed that the victim had been kidnapped by a person she had met once at a picnic spot in Delhi. The repeated change of

Mobile phones and SIM cards caused delays intracing the victim. Over the past six weeks, the AHTU Crime Branch team analyzed the Call Detail Records (CDRs) of more than 35 mobile numbers associated with various suspects. Due to the frequent location changes of the suspect, the team conducted raids lasting about 5–6 hours in various areas of behind and Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.
Ultimately, the victim was successfully recovered. The team also detained the suspect from a rented room in a highly congested are a under PS Janak Ganj, District Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The suspect attempted to flee from the spot but was overpowered. Both the victim and the suspect were handed over to the local police for further legal proceedings.

 


2. FACTS OF THE SECOND CASE:

The victim was reported missing/kidnappedsince31.05.2025 from the area of PS Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi. A case under Section 137(2) BNS was registered at PS Mukherjee Nagar. The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Crime Branch, being the Nodal Agency of Delhi Police for such cases, promptly initiated efforts to trace her.
INFORMATION,TEAM & OPERATION:

The team of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Crime Branch, comprising Inspector Mukesh, SI Vishal Gupta, and HC Amit, under the supervision of ACP/AHTU Arun Chauhan, took up the matter due to its sensitivity and worked relentlessly. The officers diligently gathered inputs from various sources, including the victim’s relatives, friends, and local community members.
Based on technical surveillance and field intelligence, the victim was traced to the parking area of the railway station in Ludhiana, Punjab.

Enquiry revealed that the victim was in a relationship with the suspect, who had come in contact with her through a social media site, Instagram. When her family discovered this, they scolded her, leading the victim to leave home with the suspect without informing her parents. The victim and the suspect were handed over to PS Mukherjee Nagar for further proceedings.
