New Delhi, 17 June : Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the able guidance of Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, the Government of Delhi has taken a major step toward building a ‘Swasth Delhi, Sashakt Delhi’ with the inauguration of 33 new ‘Ayushman Arogya Mandirs’ across the capital.
In line with this transformative initiative, Delhi’s Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh today inaugurated the Ayushman Arogya Mandir located at Old Barat Ghar, Gali No. 6, Gupta Enclave, Vikas Nagar in his Vikas Puri Assembly constituency.
The newly inaugurated centre offers primary healthcare services, a state-of-the-art pathology lab, pre-natal care, well-ventilated seating areas, fans, coolers, and air-conditioners for patient comfort, along with clean drinking water and sanitation facilities. With comprehensive diagnostic services, thousands of residents now have access to free, quality healthcare right in their neighbourhood.
While addressing a large gathering at the inauguration, Dr. Singh emphasised that under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi and the leadership of CM Smt. Rekha Gupta, the government has, in its first 100 days, successfully launched 33 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and 17 Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras in Delhi — a truly historic achievement.
He announced that a total of 1139 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are under development across Delhi, soon to be operational to ensure primary healthcare access at every doorstep.
Dr. Singh informed that Ayushman Arogya Mandirs—also known as Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs)—are modern dispensaries equipped with qualified doctors, nurses, vaccination and dressing teams, essential medicines, and in-house testing capabilities. They will provide services including cervical screening, maternal healthcare, and child immunizations.
Each Ayushman Arogya Mandir will offer a wide range of services free of cost, including OPD consultations, diagnostic testing, distribution of essential medications, pre-natal and post-natal care, neonatal health services and child immunization, regular medical advice and follow-ups, as well as yoga sessions and other wellness activities.
Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh stated that even before its official inauguration, the ‘Ayushman Arogya Mandir’ in Gupta Enclave, Vikas Nagar, was already receiving over 200 patients daily for treatment. So far, more than 1,100 people have benefited from services at this centre. He added that ‘Ayushman Arogya Mandirs’ will offer OPD services from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM every day except Sunday.
Highlighting the government’s rapid progress, Dr. Singh said that in a mere 100 days, Delhi has witnessed a significant leap towards becoming a healthier city. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering quality healthcare at the doorstep and criticized the previous administration for failing to translate promises into action.
“Access to quality healthcare and cleanliness is not just a promise — it is the fundamental right of every Delhiite. Our government is ensuring that this right becomes a reality,” he said.
He further said as the elected representative of Vikaspuri, he will continue to work to ensure that every part of Delhi, including my constituency, receives world-class healthcare facilities nearby.
“There will be no longer need to visit large hospitals for basic treatments. Medical tests and medicines will now be available easily and without delay,” said Dr. Singh.
He also highlighted the introduction of mobile dental vans offering free check-ups in neighbourhoods — a service that was once rare, now made possible under the current administration.
Dr. Singh said that this health initiative will not stop at Gupta Enclave, Deep Enclave, or Vikas Kunj. “Wherever there is available government land in the constituency, we will establish more such facilities to bring healthcare closer to the people,” he added.
