NEW DELHI, 17 JUNE: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday inaugurated an Ayushman Arogya Mandir at the Tis Hazari Court Complex, marking what she described as a significant milestone in the city’s healthcare journey. Addressing the media at the event, Gupta stated, “This is a very big milestone for Delhi, from where a new turning point starts in the journey of the people of Delhi.” She credited the central government for delivering this facility, adding, “This is itself a big gift that Delhi has received through the work of the central government, which the previous government did not provide.”
Taking aim at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Gupta criticized the delay in executing the project. “The previous government should have started this work four years ago but they never even entertained the thought of it,” she said. “I consider this as a big crime against the people of Delhi. We got only eight months to do this work.”
Gupta contrasted the newly inaugurated Ayushman Arogya Mandir with the AAP government’s Mohalla Clinics, stating, “This is very different from the Mohalla clinics that the previous government opened, which were nothing but temporary structures. We want to provide the people of Delhi with the best of health facilities.”
Meanwhile, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa also inaugurated an Ayushman Arogya Mandir at Budh Bazar Road, B Block in Chaukhandi. Sirsa informed that 33 such centers were inaugurated across the city on Tuesday. “A total of 33 Arogya Mandirs have been inaugurated today, and they have excellent infrastructure,” he said.
In another health-focused initiative, Delhi Minister Ashish Sood had distributed Ayushman Bharat cards to senior citizens in Janakpuri on May 18 under the Pradhan Mantri Vay Vandana Yojana. “So far, we have prepared cards for thousands of people,” said Sood, emphasizing that beneficiaries receive not only the card but also a list of empanelled hospitals.
He urged citizens to spread awareness about the scheme, especially among the elderly, so they can access healthcare benefits in Delhi and other states.
