NEW DELHI, 17 JUNE: Delhi’s Minister for Education, Home, and Power, Ashish Sood, today dedicated a newly constructed Ayushman Arogya Mandir to the residents of his Janakpuri constituency. The center is located opposite the SS Mota Singh Community Centre in A-4A Block, Janakpuri. A large number of local residents were present on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Shri Sood stated:
“The inauguration of this Ayushman Arogya Mandir marks a historic milestone in Delhi’s public healthcare system. We plan to open 11 more such centers across Janakpuri constituency in the near future, significantly improving access to quality healthcare for our citizens.”
Shri Sood emphasized that since assuming office, the Delhi Government has made transformative efforts to elevate healthcare services to global standards. Today’s launch is a significant step in that direction.
He further shared that under the leadership of Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta, and with the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the blessings of Union Health Minister Shri J.P. Nadda, the Delhi Government has set an ambitious target of establishing over 1,100 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across the city. Of these, 33 centers were inaugurated today by the Chief Minister, Ministers, MPs, and MLAs across various constituencies.
The Ayushman Arogya Mandirs offer free in-house diagnostic tests such as LFT, KFT, Lipid Profile, Sugar, BP, and others. Additionally, over 200 essential medicines will be provided free of cost. These centers are also equipped with wellness services, air-conditioning, clean drinking water, sanitation facilities, waiting areas, and day-care services for women. Special provisions have been made for mothers visiting with newborns and caretakers of elderly patients, ensuring comfort and dignity for all.
Shri Sood reaffirmed the Delhi Government’s commitment to effectively implementing all public welfare schemes of the Central Government, in collaboration and coordination with the Centre. He highlighted the integration of the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which was previously overlooked by past administrations, but has now been prioritized and rolled out across all hospitals in Delhi. Under this scheme, citizens can avail free treatment up to ₹10 lakhs, regardless of eligibility conditions.
He also spoke about the launch of the ‘Vay Vandana Yojana’ for senior citizens. Under this initiative, residents aged 70 years and above are entitled to free treatment at designated hospitals.
