New Executive Committee Elected for Comparative Literature Association of India (CLAI) | Prof. Pramod Kumar Elected Vice-President with Overwhelming Support

New Delhi, June 14 : The Comparative Literature Association of India (CLAI) successfully conducted its executive committee elections online from June 9 to 11, 2025. This year’s elections saw enthusiastic participation from across the country, with the entire panel securing a resounding majority. Notably, Prof. Pramod Kumar achieved a historic victory as Vice-President of the Delhi Chapter, backed by unprecedented support.

Prof. Pramod Kumar is widely respected for his significant contributions to comparative literature and his inclusive approach. Academics, researchers, and students of CLAI have chosen him as a symbol of collaborative and dynamic leadership.

In his post-election statement, Prof. Pramod Kumar remarked:
“This victory is not mine alone but a triumph of our shared vision. We are committed to elevating CLAI to new heights by strengthening its academic framework, embracing linguistic and cultural diversity, and fostering creative dialogue among scholars nationwide.”

Formed in 1987 through the historic merger of INCLA (Kolkata) and CILA (Delhi), CLAI has provided a vibrant platform for the study of comparative literature. Under the leadership of Prof. Pramod Kumar and his team, CLAI is poised to carry forward this illustrious legacy with renewed energy and vision.
