PM Modi Takes Charge After Air India Crash; Civil Aviation Minister Races to Ahmedabad for Relief Oversight

NEW DELHI, 12 JUNE: In the wake of the tragic Air India flight crash near Ahmedabad airport, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken swift and personal charge of the situation. According to official sources, the Prime Minister spoke directly with Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Rammohan Naidu to get an immediate update on the incident and assess the response measures being taken.

The ill-fated aircraft, carrying 242 passengers, crashed in the Meghani Nagar area just minutes after takeoff from Ahmedabad’s runway. Visuals from the site have shown plumes of thick smoke rising from the wreckage, prompting nationwide concern and emergency mobilisation.

Minister Naidu, apprising the Prime Minister of the preliminary details, confirmed he is en route to Ahmedabad to lead the rescue and relief efforts firsthand. Prime Minister Modi has directed him to ensure every possible assistance is extended to the victims and their families and to keep him regularly informed of the developments.

“All relevant agencies have been placed on high alert,” a senior government official stated. “Rescue, fire, and medical teams are working in coordinated efforts to bring the situation under control and provide urgent care to those affected.”

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) is monitoring the situation round-the-clock. Local authorities have been asked to maintain constant coordination with central agencies, while emergency control rooms have been activated.

The government has assured the nation that no effort will be spared in rescue operations and relief assistance, as the country prays for the safety of those involved.
