New Delhi, June 11, 2025 – Minister of State for Defence  Sanjay Seth met with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Mount Everest Expedition team today in the national capital, celebrating their successful summit of the world’s highest peak last month.

The cadets, who reached the summit on May 18, 2025, shared vivid accounts of their journey, from the months of intense preparation to the extreme challenges they encountered during the climb. Sanjay Seth commended their courage, determination, and the spirit of teamwork that brought them success.

This mission marks NCC’s third triumph on Everest, following previous expeditions in 2013 and 2016. The 2025 team included ten young cadets—five boys and five girls—with an average age of just 19. Despite many being new to high-altitude mountaineering, their achievement was made possible through meticulous planning and the guidance of a dedicated team comprising officers, JCOs, instructors, and NCOs.

The expedition was ceremoniously flagged off by Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh on April 3, 2025, in New Delhi. Their success stands as a proud moment for the NCC and a shining example of youth leadership, resilience, and national pride.
