Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Felicitated Class 10 and 12 Toppers

New Delhi, 30 May : Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta today honoured the meritorious students of Class 10 and 12 who excelled in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations at an event held at Rajkiya Pratibha Bal Vikas Vidyalaya, Rajpur Road. Delhi Cabinet Minister Shri Ashish Sood, students, their parents, teachers, and education department officials were also present at the occasion.


The Chief Minister felicitated 87 students by presenting them with tablets—16 from Class 10 and 71 from Class 12. Additionally, she honoured the principals of 20 government schools whose institutions recorded 100% results in the CBSE examinations by awarding them with computers. Congratulating the students on their success, she said, “Your hard work has truly paid off.”
Addressing the students, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, “Students have achieved this milestone through dedication, discipline, and relentless effort. Today, you are not only making your parents and school proud but are also bringing honour to the entire nation. The Delhi government is proud of all of you.” She added that this success is not just about marks, but a reflection of students’ perseverance, clarity of purpose, and positive attitude toward life.


She further said, “If you have the will, a clear vision, and the zeal to work hard, no goal is too far.” Recalling her own school days, she mentioned that she herself is an alumna of a Delhi government school in Ashok Vihar.
Expressing her gratitude to Education Minister Shri Ashish Sood and SBI for their support, the Chief Minister said that the event was promptly organized following the announcement of exam results to honour the achievements of students and their families. She reaffirmed her government’s commitment to prioritizing educational reforms, aiming to equip every government school with smart classrooms, hygienic toilets, digital libraries, and well-trained teachers.


She said, “It’s time that Delhi government schools become the first choice for parents. Just as people consider Government colleges like Delhi University a world class destination for higher education, our schools too must become symbols of pride and excellence at the school level.”
On the occasion of completing 100 days in office, the Chief Minister congratulated all officials, teachers, parents, and students for the transformative steps taken in the education sector. She highlighted key policy decisions in school administration, infrastructure, modern libraries, smart classrooms, digital services, and multilingual education, aimed at enabling Delhi’s children to compete nationally and globally.


She further stressed that students should not be prepared merely for academic results but for overall development. Criticizing past governments for excluding underperforming students to artificially improve results, she said that the Delhi government is committed to inclusive education—providing equal opportunities to all and extending special support to students who require additional guidance.


She reaffirmed the goal of achieving 100% results in government schools in the future and declared her vision for Delhi to become a national leader in education. Urging students to continue working hard and to realize their dreams, she called on them to contribute to society and the nation. She assured that the Delhi government will remain dedicated to their all-round development.
Education Minister Shri. Ashish Sood also addressed the gathering and particularly acknowledged the contributions of mothers in the students’ success. He said, “Behind every student achieving excellence in Delhi today is the tireless support of a mother.” Shri Sood also stated that the existing imbalance between private and government schools in Delhi. He said, “But now the situation is changing. Under the Chief Minister’s leadership, the government is bringing wide-ranging reforms to the education system.” He announced that 75 new CM Shri Schools will be opened this year in Delhi, featuring state-of-the-art infrastructure, experiential learning, and integration of values rooted in Indian culture. These schools will be positioned as national models of excellence. He said, “Our goal is to ensure that students in government schools have access to the same high-quality facilities as those in private schools. Every child deserves a fair opportunity, and education must be the path to their brighter future.”
