Amit Shah Lauds BSF’s Bravery During Operation Sindoor in Poonch

Poonch, May 30: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, on Thursday addressed personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, praising their bravery and dedication, particularly during ‘Operation Sindoor’. He was joined by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Home Secretary, the Director of the Intelligence Bureau, and senior BSF officials.

During his address, Shah highlighted BSF’s pivotal role in safeguarding India’s borders and said the force remains the “first line of defence” against any threat. He acknowledged their round-the-clock service, saying, “No attack can directly harm Indian territory because a BSF jawan stands guard with unwavering courage.”

Referring to ‘Operation Sindoor’, Shah said BSF personnel showed exemplary bravery by destroying over 118 Pakistani posts and dismantling their entire surveillance infrastructure in response to cross-border aggression. He added that BSF’s quick and intelligence-based counteraction inflicted maximum damage in minimal time.

“Such acts of heroism are only possible when there is immense pride in the nation and readiness for supreme sacrifice,” Shah remarked, adding that the names and bravery of BSF jawans are etched on the lips of every Indian child.

The Home Minister also acknowledged BSF personnel posted across critical frontiers in Jammu, Rajasthan, and the remote Kutch border for maintaining high vigilance and national security during both war and peacetime. He affirmed that their sacrifice and patriotism continue to inspire the nation
