The Impressive TimesUttar Pradesh, 27 May: BIS Ghaziabad Branch Office team carried out a search and seizure operation at M/s Satvik Creation, BM 15, Sumedha Building, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh on 23 May 2025. During the operation, the firm was found indulged in storing and selling of non-ISI toys.
Toys have been brought under the mandatory certification by the Central Government through the Toys (Quality Control) Order, 2020 as per the provisions of the BIS Act, 2016.
Under the prohibitory provisions in the BIS Act, 2016 “No person shall manufacture, import, distribute, sell, hire, lease, store or exhibit for sale any such goods, article, process, system or service under sub-section (1) of section 16 without a Standard Mark, except under a valid licence”. The penalties for contravention have also been prescribed under Sec 29 of the Act.
The raiding team seized the articles without BIS Standard Mark and BIS would be launching prosecution against the offenders in the Court of law.
