New Delhi, 19 May: A Passing Out Parade was conducted at Delhi Police Academy, Wazirabad Campus on 19th May 2025, marking the completion of the basic training for 1308 newly recruited male Constables of Executive Cadre, Batch No. 124. These recruits are now ready to take on their crucial roles within the Delhi Police. Key highlights from this significant ceremony are detailed below:
Academic Profiles of the Graduating Batch
Among the 1308 Recruit Constables (Executive) of Batch No. 124 (Male), 42 are postgraduate, including 01 M.Sc., 4 M.Com., 35 M.A. and 2 M.B.A. Furthermore, 738 hold undergraduate degrees across various disciplines such as B.Tech.- 6, LLB – 2, and B.Ed. -19. The newly recruited police personnel bring a wide academic diversity to the force.
Comprehensive Training Curriculum
The training program is designed to equip the officers for the challenges of modern policing. The academic part included in-depth study of constitutional frameworks, criminal laws, criminological principles, cybercrime awareness and counter measures, investigative techniques, and forensic science. A particular importance was given to familiarization with the newly enacted criminal laws.
The training also included PT, parade drills, commando training, Unarmed Combat (UAC), and self-defense techniques. To ensure over all development, trainees were also engaged in sports, structured gym workouts, and mental fitness exercises including meditation and yoga. Furthermore, as part of their Commando course, they received foundational knowledge regarding explosives and IEDs. It also included Commando tactics training, field craft, raid & ambush training, and building/urban intervention training.
Recognizing the importance of diverse skill sets, numerous workshops and seminars were organized for the trainees. Special sessions conducted by the NDRF provided training in disaster response, including rescue and relief operations during natural and man-made disasters, First Aid, and communication plan, with practical application through Mock Drills. To address contemporary challenges, trainees were also educated on the complexities of economic offenses, including fraud detection, investigation, and prevention. A comprehensive series of workshops on cybercrime equipped them with knowledge of online threats, digital forensics, and cybersecurity measures, preparing them to combat the growing menace of cybercrime. Animal safety and conservation training was also integrated into the curriculum, along with other specialized sessions led by experts from various NGOs. A special workshop on psychological learnings on stress and anger management was also conducted two days before the passing out parade.
A strong emphasis was placed on IT and Computer training, ensuring trainees are proficient in all Delhi Police Apps and Websites. Special modules provided in-depth knowledge of crucial systems such as CCTNS, ICJS, and ICMS.
Address by the Chief Guest – Spl. CP (Public Transport Safety Division, Delhi)
The Chief Guest, Sh. Robin Hibu, IPS, Special Commissioner of Police, Public Transport Safety Division, Delhi, addressed the newly trained constables and extended his heartfelt congratulations to them on their successful completion of training. He also emphasized the ethical conduct, discipline, and responsibility as a public servant. He also discussed the need to use modern technology in their law enforcement duties.
Welcome Address by- Joint Director, DPA
The welcome address by, Sh. Asif Mohd. Ali, IPS, Joint Director, Delhi Police Academy, acknowledged the presence of the Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour, esteemed senior officers of the Delhi Police, the graduating trainees, their proud family members, and the training staff. The trainees were encouraged to take on their responsibilities with courage and to prioritize service above everything. He ended his address with congratulations and best wishes to the graduating batch.
Ms. Kaveri Tondon, Director Incharge, Rashtriya Raksha University, Gujrat also graced the event as Guest of Honour.
The event was also attended by Sh. Sanjay Kumar, IPS, Special CP/Training, Delhi, whose oversight of the training division was key to making the event such a success.
The Oath was administered by Sh. Jitendra Mani, Deputy Director-II, Delhi Police Academy, Delhi.
Total 14 contingents of Recruit constables marched in this parade. Contingent No. 14 was awarded the best marching contingent and its Drill Instructor SI Mahender Singh was felicitated with a trophy.
The total strength of Recruit Constable Batch No. 124 is 4088, out of which 1308 performed their ceremonial Passing Out Parade at Wazirabad Campus today i.e. 19.05.25. The rest 2780 will be swearing-in tomorrow i.e. 20.05.25 at Jharoda Kalan.
