New Delhi, May 16 – Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said that Operation Sindoor stands as a powerful testament to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decisive leadership, the precision of India’s intelligence network, and the formidable strike capabilities of the nation’s armed forces.
“India takes immense pride in its armed forces, the Border Security Force, and all security and intelligence agencies,” Shah said after inaugurating the new Multi Agency Centre (MAC) at North Block in the national capital, according to a statement from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Commenting on the recent major anti-Naxal operations conducted by Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) in the Karregattalu Hills (KGH) along the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border, the Home Minister hailed the operation as a historic milestone in the fight against Naxalism. He said it reflected exemplary coordination among the security forces.
Shah noted that a similar level of synergy was evident during Operation Sindoor, which underscores the close alignment in strategy and execution among India’s intelligence agencies and the three branches of the armed forces.
The Home Minister said the newly launched MAC platform will offer a seamless and unified interface to integrate the efforts of multiple agencies in confronting today’s evolving and complex national security threats.
He expressed confidence that the upgraded system will bolster India’s ability to counter challenges such as terrorism, extremism, organized crime, and cyber threats.
Praising the enhanced MAC infrastructure, Shah commended the swift completion of both hardware and software upgrades. The revamped platform now includes advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to analyze extensive datasets and integrate GIS capabilities.
Laying out the vision ahead, Shah emphasized the need to bring together other key databases maintained by various central agencies—currently operating in silos—onto this unified platform to leverage advanced data analytics.
He added that the upgraded MAC system is expected to significantly improve the quality of intelligence analysis, enabling more precise trend forecasts, hotspot identification, and timeline-based assessments to support both preventive and operational outcomes.
The Home Minister emphasized that the new MAC network will play a pivotal role in dismantling the terror-crime ecosystem that is deeply interconnected with organized criminal activities.
As India’s premier intelligence fusion hub, the Multi Agency Centre has been operational since 2001. Shah has played an active role in steering its technological modernization.
Operating under the Intelligence Bureau, the enhanced MAC now interlinks all intelligence, security, law enforcement, and investigative agencies.
Built at a cost exceeding ₹500 crore, the modernized MAC network represents a significant leap forward in scale and capability. Covering the entire nation—including island territories, insurgency-hit zones, and high-altitude mountainous regions—it ensures last-mile connectivity, reaching even district-level Superintendents of Police in remote locations through a fast, standalone, and secure network.
