Shah visits soldiers wounded during anti-Naxal mission in Karegutta Hills

New Delhi, May 15 — Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the AIIMS trauma centre on Thursday to check on the health of security personnel injured during the recent 21-day anti-Naxal operation in the Karegutta Hills (KGH) along the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border.

This extensive operation resulted in the elimination of 31 notorious Naxal insurgents in the Karegutta Hills, one of the largest anti-Naxal campaigns in recent times. Remarkably, the operation was completed within 21 days without any casualties among the security forces.

Karegutta Hill served as a major stronghold and unified headquarters for several prominent Naxal groups, including the PLGA Battalion 1, DKSZC, TSC, and CRC. The location was not only used for training but also for planning strategies and manufacturing weapons.

Earlier, the Home Minister had praised the CRPF, STF, and DRG personnel for their successful operation. He applauded their bravery and resilience in facing the Naxalites despite harsh weather conditions and the challenging, inaccessible terrain of the mountainous region.
