Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reviews the preparations for Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain;

Madhya Pradesh, 12 MAY: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav took stick of the infrastructure and development works for the preparations of Simhastha 2028 at a high level meeting in Ujjain. He emphasised that Simhastha 2028 preparations must prioritize the faith of saints, seers, and devotees. The CM directed officials to ensure timely completion of projects with high quality and proper standards.

Key Points from the Review Meeting:
Infrastructure & Road Connectivity:

Extensive road networks are being developed to facilitate smooth transportation for pilgrims. The entire fair area is being connected with 4-lane and 6-lane roads. Elevated bridges will be constructed to avoid disruption to businesses and ensure smooth traffic flow.

Technology & Monitoring:

All Simhastha-related works will be monitored using modern technology to assess both physical progress and quality. Integrated action plans will be developed in coordination with the Railways and other departments.

Medical Tourism Hub:

The district will be developed as a medical tourism hub with Yoga, wellness centers, naturopathy, allopathy, Ayurveda, and allied medical infrastructure. A MediCity Medical College is under construction with a cost of ₹592.3 crore.

Security and Judicial Facilities:

Army presence will be ensured at the fair for security. A judicial facility will be set up in Ujjain during the fair period. All major temples will be developed as “Dev Lok” spiritual centers.

Progress Report:
Total Projects: 153 projects approved and in progress worth ₹23,332 crore. 78 projects (₹3,728 crore) funded by Simhastha head. 75 projects (₹19,604 crore) funded through departmental budgets.

Execution Status:

27 projects started

94 under tender process

32 in administrative approval phase

Major Projects:
Kshipra River Infrastructure:

₹778.91 crore for ghats

₹920 crore for Kanh Diversion Closed Duct project (31.7% completed)

₹614.53 crore for Sewer Khedi-Silar Khedi project (23.6% completed)

Road Works:

₹1,692 crore Indore–Ujjain 6-lane highway (13.64% done)

₹195 crore Mahidpur–Ghosla road (80% done)

₹5,017 crore Ujjain–Jaora 4-lane greenfield express highway

Public Works Department:

Major roads, bypasses, bridges, and temple access roads under construction across Ujjain and surrounding districts.

Proposed Additional Works:

56 additional works proposed worth ₹3,255 crore across 10 districts, including Ujjain, Mandsaur, Shajapur, Dewas, Agar Malwa, Ratlam, Neemuch, Indore, Khandwa, and Khargone.

Dignitaries Present:
MP Anil Firojiya, MLAs, Ujjain Mayor Mukesh Tatwal, municipal chairperson Kalavati Yadav, other public representatives, DIG Navneet Bhasin, SP Pradeep Sharma, media representatives, and officials attended the meeting.
