Khelo India Youth Games 2025: Maharashtra Shines in Rhythmic Gymnastics Qualifiers, Delhi Puts Up a Strong Fight

New Delhi, 12 May: As part of the Khelo India Youth Games 2025, young athletes from across the country showcased their talent during the qualification rounds for Women’s Artistic, Men’s Artistic, and Rhythmic Gymnastics held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi.

In the women’s rhythmic gymnastics event, Maharashtra dominated with a stellar performance—considered their best so far—while gymnasts from Delhi gave them tough competition. The event is still underway, with finals scheduled for Tuesday and the list of qualifiers to be announced on Tuesday morning. Competitions are being held in hoop, ribbon, ball, and clubs categories.

Women’s Artistic Gymnastics: Maharashtra and West Bengal Impress in Balance Beam and Floor Exercises

In the junior women’s artistic gymnastics category, gymnasts from Maharashtra, Telangana, Delhi, West Bengal, Odisha, and Kerala qualified for the final round in the Balance Beam event. In the Floor Exercise event, gymnasts from West Bengal, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Karnataka secured spots in the finals with impressive performances.

12 Gymnasts Advance to Women’s Individual All-Around Final

A total of 12 gymnasts have qualified for the Women’s Individual All-Around final. These athletes represent Maharashtra, West Bengal, Delhi, Odisha, Manipur, Karnataka, Kerala, and Telangana. Additionally, two gymnasts from Manipur and Delhi have been named as reserves and may get a chance to compete in the final due to injuries or technical reasons.

Men’s Individual All-Around: Strong Performances by Gymnasts from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh

In the boys’ individual all-around qualifications, 15 gymnasts advanced to the final. These include athletes from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Goa. Two gymnasts from Goa and Manipur have been named to the reserve list.

Thrill and Skill on Display in Horizontal Bar and Vaulting Table Events

In the technical events, gymnasts from UP, Haryana, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Kerala, and Odisha qualified for the finals in the Horizontal Bar event. In the Parallel Bars, gymnasts from UP, Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Goa made it through. In the high-intensity Vaulting Table event, athletes from Delhi, UP, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Odisha excelled.

Present at the venue were Mr. Kumar Digvijay, Labour Commissioner of Bihar and CAO of Bihar Bhawan, along with Mr. Kaushik Bidiwala, Treasurer of the Gymnastics Federation of India. They interacted with the athletes, praised their talent, and extended their best wishes for future success.
