Palwal, May 10 : Amidst tensions between India and Pakistan, Superintendent of Police, Palwal, Mr. Varun Singla has advised citizens to stay away from rumours and act with calm and restraint, relying only on official sources of information. He urged everyone to strictly follow government-issued instructions.
The advisory follows the standoff between the two countries, with the Indian Army on high alert at the border.
The SP highlighted the need to follow the guidelines for the safety of citizens as follows:
What Should Citizens Do During Emergency or Air Raid Situations?
Remain Alert but Do Not Panic.
Identify the Safest Room in Your House – preferably one without windows.
If Outdoors, Take Shelter in a nearby strong structure or lie down in a low-lying area.
Do Not Rush Outside to take photos or videos.
Prepare an Emergency Kit:
Keep the following in a go-bag:
ID cards
Essential medicines
Drinking water
Dry food
Mobile phone charger
Flashlight
Stay Away from Rumours – Trust Only Official Information:
Follow updates only from reliable sources like NDMA app, AIR (All India Radio), and DD News.
Always verify news circulating on WhatsApp, Twitter, or Facebook.
Palwal Police warns that anyone found spreading false or misleading information on social media will face strict legal consequences.
Maintain Mental Balance:
Limit news intake to no more than twice a day.
Practice 4-4-4-4 Box Breathing: Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, and repeat.
Engage in prayer, meditation, or calming activities.
Do not instill fear in children; maintain their daily routine with play, study, and stories.
Stay Connected with the Community:
Keep in touch with neighbours and assist the elderly.
Report any suspicious activity to the police directly rather than posting it on social media.
