Prime Minister chairs a high level meeting

NEW DELHI, 10 MAY: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today chaired a crucial high-level meeting at his official residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, in New Delhi to review national security and defense preparedness. The meeting was attended by key figures including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, the chiefs of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with senior officials from the defense and security establishments.

According to a post by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on X (formerly Twitter), the meeting was convened to assess the prevailing security situation, ongoing defense strategies, and preparedness of the armed forces in view of recent developments and challenges. The PMO stated, “A high level meeting was chaired by PM @narendramodi at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. Those who attended the meeting included Defence Minister @rajnathsingh, NSA Ajit Doval, CDS General Anil Chauhan, armed forces chiefs and senior officials.”

Sources indicated that the discussions covered critical national security concerns, operational readiness, and potential responses to emerging threats along India’s borders and beyond. The meeting also reviewed modernization efforts in the armed forces and ongoing strategic initiatives.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of maintaining a robust defense posture and lauded the armed forces for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation. He directed senior officials to ensure continued vigilance, coordination, and preparedness in the face of dynamic geopolitical challenges.

The high-level meeting reflects the government’s focus on national security and its commitment to strengthening India’s defense capabilities.
