DC and SP Palwal hold district and Sub Divisional Peace Committee Meetings

Palwal, April 26,2025: DC Dr. Harish Kumar Vashisth and SP Varun Singla, held meetings with the district-level and sub-divisional-level peace committees at the district secretariat auditorium on Saturday. The meetings were held in the wake in view of the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.

They appealed to the public and committee members to support the district and police administration in maintaining peace, social harmony, and brotherhood in Palwal.

Reiterating the state government’s commitment to maintaining peace, harmony, and brotherhood, the Deputy Commissioner stated that maintaining law and order is the top priority. He emphasized that peace committees at the district and sub-divisional levels play a crucial role in enhancing mutual understanding and maintaining communal harmony. These committees serve as a bridge to promote dialogue among different communities and institutions and help reduce tensions during sensitive times.

He said that the terrorist attack in Pahalgam has sparked anger and outrage across the country. In such a scenario, the district and police administration are fully alert and are continuously monitoring the situation in an alert mode. He assured that no individual will be allowed to disturb social harmony, peace, or law and order in the district. Strict action will be taken against any anti-social elements attempting to disrupt harmony.

DC Dr. Harish Kumar Vashisth also appealed to the public not to spread any kind of false rumors on social media. He warned that if anyone spreads rumors or makes derogatory comments about any religion or caste on social media, strict action will be taken by the police. He urged people of all communities to maintain mutual brotherhood and not to pay attention to rumors.

The DC further appealed to the public not to post anything on social media that could hurt communal or religious sentiments or threaten religious harmony and peace. He advised against using indecent language or posting any videos, photos, or documents intended to hurt individuals, communities, or religious sentiments. If any objectionable post is made by any individual or organization, appropriate legal action will be taken according to the law.

SP Varun Singla urged the public to use social media to promote cooperation, brotherhood, and harmony. He called upon the peace committees to immediately inform the police about any elements attempting to spread unrest or posting provocative content. He also appealed to the public to immediately report any suspicious person, vehicle, or emergency situation to the nearest police station or by dialing 112. He reaffirmed that no one will be allowed to disturb social harmony, peace, and law and order.

The peace committees assured the district and police administration of their full cooperation in maintaining social harmony and mutual brotherhood in the district.
