JP Nadda Offers Prayers at Dagdusheth Ganpati, Vows Strong Response to Terror Attack

PUNE, 26 APRIL 2025: Union Minister JP Nadda on Saturday visited the iconic Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandir in Pune, Maharashtra, offering prayers in the wake of the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Referring to the attack that claimed 26 lives, including a Nepalese tourist, Nadda said he prayed to Lord Ganesha for the strength and wisdom needed to help the nation overcome this crisis.

“I came to seek blessings from Ganpati Bappa. The entire country is anguished by the heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam. I prayed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India gives a befitting reply. I also prayed for strength for PM Modi to lead the country through this difficult time,” Nadda said.

Meanwhile, the crackdown on suspects linked to the Pahalgam attack continues in Jammu and Kashmir. Authorities have demolished multiple houses allegedly connected to terrorists involved in the April 22 attack.

In Shopian district’s Chotipora village, security forces razed the house of a suspect believed to have direct involvement. A similar action was taken in Mutalhama village of Kulgam district, where the house of Zakir Ahmad Ganie — reportedly linked to the terror plot and active since 2023 — was demolished.

Earlier, the house of Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Adil Thokar alias Adil Guree in Anantnag district was brought down. Declared the most wanted, Adil carries a ₹20 lakh reward for information leading to his arrest. Two Pakistani nationals are also on the wanted list.

Adding to tensions, Indian troops retaliated after Pakistan Army posts engaged in “unprovoked” firing along the LoC on the night of April 25–26. No casualties were reported.
