CBSE Capacity Building Progarmme for Teachers on Educating Parents about Education at FMS, Sec 31

Faridabad, 12 APRIL 2025: With an aim to augment the partnership between school and parents in shaping a brighter future for the next generation, Faridabad Model School, Sector-31 organised CBSE Capacity Building Programme on ‘Educating Parents about Education’.

FMS Director Principal Mr. Umang Malik, school coordinators, staff and other partcipants of various schools attended the day long session facilitated by Dr. Arti Chopra- Principal, Amity International School, Gurugram and Ms. Suruchi Dawar – a certified CBSE trainer. The program started with an auspicious lighting of the lamp and a formal welcome of the resource persons.

The objective of the session was to equip the teachers with insights and strategies of New Education Policy 2020, to support the learning and overall development of students through effective parental engagement. Therefore, CBSE planned to train teachers to further address the parents and explain the benefits of NEP 2020 in a simpler manner so that they understand and bring about the essence of the reforms.

Facilitator Dr. Arti Chopra was quite interactive and interspersed the session with various hands-on activities to demonstrate strategies to deal with parents when introducing the details about NEP 2020. With many concepts getting reinforced, a new impetus was felt during the session to enable smooth implementation of National Education Policy. Ms. Suruchi Dawar on the other hand, presented a comprehensive structured module. She addressed the paradigm shift in education, highlighted the shift from content-based assessment to competency-based assessment, explored the distinction between intelligence quotient (IQ) and emotional quotient (EQ) and delved into objectives of career counselling, providing educators with insights into guiding students and parents effectively towards their future endeavours.

The training provided an insightful overview of the key concepts of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023. The session concluded with felicitation of the resource people by the School Coordinator and expressing gratitude to the attendees for their active participation during the session.
