NEW DELHI, 8 APR 2025: INCIDENT OVERVIEW:-
In a major breakthrough, the dedicated team of Foreigners Cell, North-West District, has successfully apprehended 05 illegal Bangladeshi migrants after a sustained and meticulous surveillance operation. Five mobile phones installed with the banned IMO app, which were being used to communicate with their families in Bangladesh, were recovered from their possession.
OPERATION DETAILS:
A special drive is being conducted against illegal Bangladeshi migrants in the district, focusing primarily in the areas of PS Jahangir Puri and PS Mahendra Park. As part of this initiative, a dedicated team was constituted, comprising of SI Sapan, SI Shyam Bir, ASI Rajender, ASI Vijay, HC Vikas Yadav, HC Vikram, HC Kapil, HC Praveen, HC Sombir, HC Tika Ram, Hawa Singh & Ct. Deepak under the close supervision of Insp. Vipin Kumar I/C (Foreigners Cell) and overall supervision of Sh. Ranjeet Dhaka, ACP/Operation Cell.
In April 2025, specific intelligence was received regarding the presence of illegal Bangladeshi nationals disguising themselves as transgender and engaging in begging and other activities at traffic signals to avoid suspicion.
After 07 days of sustained manual and technical surveillance, on 07.04.2025, credible information was received that 05 such individuals were present near Jahangir Puri Metro Station. Acting swiftly, the team laid a trap early in the morning, and all 05 suspects were apprehended. 07 mobile phones installed with the banned IMO app, which were being used to communicate with their families in Bangladesh, were also recovered from their possession. During interrogation, they revealed that they had illegally entered India through porous borders with the assistance of agents and travelled to Delhi via trains. They further disclosed that they adopted disguises and underwent minor surgeries and hormonal injections to change their sex and appearance in order to avoid detection.

Md. Dulal Akhtar @ Hazera Bibi S/o Md. Abdul Aziz R/o Mata Sundari Road Daryaganj, Delhi, Native of Village-Hazipara, PS Sanand Bari, Distt. Jamalpur, Bangladesh, Age- 24 years, Age- 36 years.
Md. Amirul Islam @ Monika S/o Nazural Islam R/o Mata Sundari Road Daryaganj, Delhi, Native of Village & PS Tongi Bastahara, Distt. Dhaka, Bangladesh, Age- 31 years.
Md. Mahir @ Mahi S/o Md. Dulal Miya R/o Mata Sundari Road Daryaganj, Delhi, Native of Village- Bastol, PS Mirzapur, Distt. Tangail, Bangladesh, Age- 22 years.
Saddam Hussain @ Rubina S/o Taslim Hussain R/o Mata Sundari Road, Daryaganj, Delhi, Native of Village Hili Border, Distt. Dinajpur, Bangladesh, Age-30 years.
RECOVERY AFFECTED:-
Seven mobile phones installed with the banned IMO app, which was being used to communicate with their families in Bangladesh.
Note: – All five individuals have been handed over to FRRO, RK Puram, New Delhi, for further deportation proceedings.
Further investigation is underway and efforts are on to deport these illegal Migrants.
