Separatism Nearing End Under Modi Govt: Amit Shah Declares

New Delhi, Mar 27,2025: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday welcomed the decision of two Hurriyat-affiliated groups—J&K Tahreeqi Isteqlal and J&K Tahreek-I-Istiqamat—to renounce separatism and align with mainstream India.

Taking to social media platform X, Shah expressed his optimism, stating, “Another great development from Kashmir Valley!”

“Two more groups associated with the Hurriyat—J&K Tahreeqi Isteqlal and J&K Tahreek-I-Istiqamat—have abandoned separatism and placed their faith in the new and progressive Bharat under the leadership of PM Shri @narendramodi Ji,” he wrote.

Shah emphasized that separatist ideologies are rapidly fading under the Modi government and that a wave of national unity is sweeping through Kashmir. “With the Modi administration at the helm, separatism is on its last breath, and the resounding voice of unity is echoing throughout Kashmir,” he asserted.

This announcement follows a similar statement made by the Home Minister just two days ago, where he had revealed that two other Hurriyat-linked organizations—Jammu Kashmir People’s Movement and Democratic Political Movement—had also distanced themselves from separatism.

The recent shift of these groups is being seen as a significant political transformation in the region, reflecting the impact of the government’s policies aimed at restoring stability and national integration in Jammu and Kashmir.
