Ensuring Road Safety on priority; DC Abhishek Meena and SP Dr. Mayank Gupta hold a Meeting of the District Road Safety Committee

Rewari, March 25,2025: A monthly meeting on road safety was held on Tuesday in the conference hall of the Mini Secretariat under the chairmanship of DC and Chairman of the District Road Safety Committee, Abhishek Meena. The focus was on identifying and rectifying black spots—areas prone to accidents—to enhance road safety. DC Meena emphasized that road safety is a crucial issue directly related to the lives of common people, and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.

The DC stated that parking vehicles along national highways pose a risk of accidents. He instructed the police and National Highway Authority officials to inspect roadside dhabas (eateries) along highways. The unauthorized dhabas would face immediate action as per regulations. He further instructed that the district should be free of black spots to ensure public safety.

The DC ordered a thorough inspection of all school buses under the Safe School Vehicle Policy. Any bus found without a fitness certificate should be impounded. Additionally, if any driver is found consuming intoxicants or violating traffic norms, parents should report it to both the school management and the district administration for strict action. He also directed relevant departments to ensure the timely removal of C&D (construction and demolition) waste from areas where development projects are ongoing or completed.

The DC instructed officials to improve ambulance response time, enforce penalties for helmetless riders, seat belt violations, wrong-side driving, signal jumping, and overloading of vehicles. He also directed the installation of signboards, accident audits, and the identification of accident-prone points and black spots.

The DC ordered the repair of Circular Road and all HSVP roads. He also instructed the immediate closure of all unauthorized highway cuts and action against violators. SP Dr. Mayank Gupta informed that challans (fines) are being issued to wrong-side drivers, and accident-prone areas in the district are being identified.

The meeting was attended by DC Abhishek Meena, SP Dr. Mayank Gupta, RTA Secretary and SDM Surendra Singh, SDM Bawal Uday Singh, SDM Kosli Vijay Kumar Yadav, CTM Preeti Rawat, and heads of all concerned departments.
