The Impressive TimesNEW DELHI, 25 MARCH 2025: Relentless surveillance for over a month by the sleuths of Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Delhi Police resulted into arrest of Shiv Shankar @ Gela, age 25 years, notorious criminal wanted in multiple cases under the NDPS Act, gang-related shootings, and attempted murder in the Bhalswa Dairy area of Delhi.
DETAILS OF OPERATIONS:-
On March 20, 2025, while on active duty at Gandhi Chowk, Burari, Delhi, a team led by ASI Sunil consisting of HC Vikrant Dahiya and others were conducting search for Proclaimed Offenders (PO) & wanted criminals. The hard work of police team paid dividends & credible information was received by HC Vikrant Dahiya about a notorious accused, Shiv Shankar @ Gela, who had recently stabbed a person near Janata Vihar drain around 10-11 days ago. As a result, FIR No. 152/25 u/s 118(1) BNS was registered against him at PS Bhalswa Dairy. Additionally, multiple Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs) had been issued against him in various criminal cases. Intelligence sources confirmed that Shiv Shankar @ Gela was present at his residence.
The police team led by Inspector Rakesh Duhan comprising of ASI Sunil consisting of HC Vikrant Dahiya, Naresh, and Amit Siwach immediately swung into action under the supervision of Sh. Anil Sharma, ACP/ANTF (Crime Branch) & overall guidance of the undersigned being DCP/ANTF (Crime).
Wasting no time, the ANTF team swiftly executed a highly coordinated raid at a house situated in Bhalswa Dairy area & apprehended accused Shiv Shankar @ Gela, resident of Gali No. 11, West Kamal Vihar, Burari, Delhi, Age- 25 years. Despite his attempts to self-inflict injuries in an effort to evade capture, the swift and strategic intervention of the raiding team ensured his safe apprehension. During the arrest, it was found that the accused had a pre-existing injury on the sole of his left foot, which he later admitted was caused, when he fell while escaping from the police team two days prior.
Following his arrest, the accused was taken to the ANTF, Crime Branch Office, Daryaganj, where he was subjected to intensive interrogation. During questioning, he confessed his involvement in the following cases:
1. Case FIR No. 152/25, dated 09.03.2025, u/s 118(1) BNS, PS Bhalswa Dairy Delhi:-
This pertains to a stabbing incident near Janata Vihar drain, Burari Delhi committed on 08.03.2025 by accused Shiv Shankar @ Gela upon a 16 years child over some petty issue.
2. Case FIR No. 900/24 u/s 109(1)/3(5) BNS & 27 Arms Act, PS Bhalswa Dairy:-
This case is related to a firing incident involving his associates, which stemmed from a rivalry. During the firing shootout, two individuals sustained bullet injuries. The accused had been evading his arrest, leading to the court issuing an NBW against him on February 27, 2025.
3. Case FIR No. 903/24 u/s 21B NDPS Act, PS Bhalswa Dairy:
This case involves drug trafficking, where one of his associates, Shiv @ Akash @ Chotu Pandit, was caught while selling heroin to the peddlers on his instructions. During the operation, 15.75 grams of heroin (intermediate quantity) was recovered. However, Shiv Shankar @ Gela managed to escape. Due to his continued evasion, an NBW was issued by the court against him on January 8, 2025.
Upon verification with PS Bhalswa Dairy and the concerned investigating officers, all case details were confirmed to be accurate and it has been revealed that he was most wanted and desperate active gangster of Bhaswa Dairy area of Delhi.

• Background: He was drawn into criminal activities due to his aggressive nature and association with local gangs.
It has been revealed that beside the above cases, he has also been involved in following two more cases :-
1. 376/2023, u/s 307/506/34 IPC PS Bhalswa Dairy Delhi
2. EOTNSN-000178/2020, u/s 411 IPC PS Swaroop Nagar Delhi
The accused is being produced before the Competent Court through Kalandra u/s 35(1)(C) BNSS for further legal proceedings.
The successful arrest of this active Narco -offender/gangster is part of a broader initiative to track and apprehend wanted, parole & bail jumpers, ensuring that individuals evading justice are held accountable for their crimes.
