TWO MISSING MINOR GIRLS AGED 15 YEARS & AGED 16 YEARS TRACED BY THE TEAM OF AHTU/SOUTH WEST DISTRICT
MISSING MINOR GIRLS WERE REUNITED SAFELY WITH THEIR FAMILIES UNDER “OPERATION MILAP”
New Delhi, 23 March 2025: A team of AHTU, South West District had done a commendable and humanitarian work by tracing & reuniting two missing minor girls namely “S” age 16 years & “M” age 15 years with their families safely under “Operation Milap”.
INCIDENT, TEAM AND OPERATION:
On 16.03.2025, a complaint was received at PS Naraina, New Delhi regarding kidnapping of one minor girl namely “S” age 16 years. Immediately, a case u/s 137(2) BNS was registered at PS Naraina, New Delhi and search of the missing child was made by PS staff but no clue was found.
On 21.03.2025, another complaint was received at PS Uttam Nagar, New Delhi regarding kidnapping of one minor boy namely “M” age 15 years. Immediately, a case u/s 137(2) BNS was registered at PS Uttam Nagar, New Delhi and search of the missing child was made by PS staff but no clue was found.
To trace the missing children, two dedicated teams under the leadership of Insp. Balbir Singh, I/C AHTU/SWD comprising of W/SI Shilpy, ASI Sheeshpal W/HC Sangeeta and another team comprising of ASI Mukesh, ASI Ramgopal, W/HC Sharmila and W/Ct Seema were constituted who took keen interest to trace them. Immediately, the teams met the family and friends of missing children and also engaged secret sources in the case. The AHTU team shared their information and photographs with many institutions, police officers and known persons who had helped the team in the past. During the course of action, the team of AHTU/SWD put several suspect’s numbers on surveillance and CCTV footage was checked.
During the checking of CCTV footage from bus stands and railway stations, the child girl “S” was spotted on camera at New Delhi Railway Station boarding a train to Pratapgarh, UP, where her relatives are residing. However, on 18/03/25, she again boarded a train to Mumbai. On enquiry it was revealed that she was carrying a mobile SIM card but kept switching it on and off. During further enquiry, an Instagram ID was created to establish contact with the child, and she was convinced to return to Delhi. Since the child did not disclose the train details, a strategic plan was put in place—two members were stationed at New Delhi Railway Station, two at Old Delhi Railway Station, and two at Anand Vihar Railway Station. Finally, on 22.03.2025 during the early hours, the child girl “S” arrived at Old Delhi Railway Station at around 7:00 AM, where she was successfully traced.
During strenuous exercise, staff showed photograph of girl M to the public and tried to search her physically. Serious efforts bore fruit and finally on 22/03/2025 the missing minor girl “M” was traced from New Delhi area. The missing girls were safely handed over to their families after completing all the legal formalities.
