Delhi Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh reviews departmental meeting on new schemes and upcoming budget

Budget to Ensure Economic Security for the Poor, Women Empowerment, and Youth Self-Reliance", says Ravinder Indraj Singh

New Delhi, March 12, 2025 – Delhi’s Minister for Social Welfare, SC/ST Welfare, Elections, and Cooperation, Ravinder Indraj Singh, chaired a departmental review meeting on Wednesday. The discussions focused on launching new schemes, expanding existing facilities, enhancing transparency through digitalization, and financial provisions for the 2025-26 budget.

During the meeting, the minister instructed officials to prepare the budget proposal based on public feedback while keeping the principle of Antyodaya (upliftment of the last person in society) at the center.

Ravinder Indraj Singh emphasized that the schemes should align with the vision of Viksit Delhi Sankalp, ensuring economic security for the underprivileged, empowering women, and promoting self-reliance among youth. He stated that the budget should not merely be a financial document but a social statement, reinforcing that the government prioritizes the welfare of the poor and marginalized.

The minister highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi Government aims to further advance schemes for the underprivileged while empowering youth and women. The budget will focus on pension schemes, self-reliance through cooperatives, and welfare initiatives for the poor, making it truly a budget for the people.

Furthermore, Ravinder Indraj Singh mentioned that direct public engagement and online consultations are being conducted to gather suggestions for the budget. These insights are being shared with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for further consideration.
