According to the Uttar Pradesh Information Department, the cumulative number of pilgrims has now surpassed 555.6 million since the grand event commenced in January.
Renowned as the world’s largest spiritual and cultural congregation, the Maha Kumbh began on January 13 with Paush Purnima and will conclude on February 26. The sacred Triveni Sangam, where millions take a holy dip, has drawn an impressive array of dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and several other prominent leaders.
Former ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somnath recently joined the throng of worshippers, accompanied by his family, to partake in the divine experience at the Sangam. Reflecting on the spiritual significance of the gathering, Somnath described it as a testament to humanity’s eternal quest for the ‘nectar of life.’ Through his social media, he shared a deep personal connection with the cosmos, emphasizing the profound impact of such collective spiritual pursuits.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the state’s remarkable transformation, citing Prayagraj, Kashi, and Ayodhya as symbols of India’s rising spiritual and economic potential under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He underscored the unprecedented surge in visitors to Ayodhya, viewing it as a reflection of the region’s cultural resurgence and economic vibrancy.
The Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi and the holy city of Ayodhya are also witnessing a significant increase in devotees, with pilgrims making their way for darshan after their sacred bath in Prayagraj. This confluence of spiritual and cultural energy marks a new chapter in India’s rich heritage, celebrating faith, unity, and the timeless allure of its sacred sites.
