NEW DELHI, 30TH JANUARY 2025– In an unprecedented show of unity and strength, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, alongside Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav, led a massive roadshow in Kirari, rallying voters ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Addressing an electrified crowd, Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress, urging voters to ensure that not a single vote is wasted. He lashed out at both parties for secretly working together, warning that a vote for Congress would ultimately benefit the BJP.
SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav threw his full weight behind AAP, declaring that Delhi’s electorate has already made up its mind to re-elect Arvind Kejriwal. He praised the “Kejriwal Model” of governance and asserted that BJP’s misgovernance would lead to its complete rout in the upcoming elections. Urging voters to consolidate their support, he called on them to cast every vote in favor of AAP’s election symbol, the ‘Jhaadu’ (broom), to ensure a clean sweep against the BJP.
Reiterating AAP’s commitment to governance and public welfare, Arvind Kejriwal contrasted his party’s performance with the BJP’s rhetoric, stating, “AAP is a party that works, while the BJP is only focused on abusing others.” He emphasized that under his leadership, Delhi has seen remarkable progress in education, healthcare, electricity, and the regularization of unauthorized colonies.
After the high-energy roadshow drawing massive public participation, Arvind Kejriwal proceeded to address a Jansabha in Mundka. There he emphasized that neither the BJP nor Congress will work for the people, while AAP remains dedicated to securing a brighter future for Delhi’s families. Highlighting his government’s achievements, Arvind Kejriwal assured voters that he will continue to provide 24-hour electricity, make water bills free, and ensure free world-class education & healthcare for every citizen, in addition to providing Rs 2,100 per month to women.
SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav heaps praises of Kejriwal Model; urges people to consolidate support for AAP
While addressing the roadshow in Kirari, Samajwadi Party’s National President Akhilesh Yadav said that the public support he has been witnessing for the AAP continuously, from the moment he arrived in Delhi, is historic. “I can confidently say that this time again, the people of Delhi will place their trust in the Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal Ji, leading them to a historic victory. I want to congratulate them in advance.”
AAP’s Jhaadu is going to sweep away the dishonesty of the BJP: Akhilesh Yadav
He said that the enthusiasm and energy of Delhiites has made it clear that Delhi has made up its mind to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). “AAP’s election symbol, the AAP, is going to sweep away the dishonesty of the BJP. Not only is the BJP going to be wiped out, but its dishonesty will also be eradicated. It is possible that this time, all 70 seats will be lost by the BJP.”
Every single vote should go in favor of Jhaadu, and no vote should be wasted: Akhilesh Yadav
He appealed to all the people to come together and ensure the defeat of the BJP. “Every single vote should go in favor of the Jhaadu, and no vote should be wasted. To defeat the BJP, each and every vote should be cast for the Aam Aadmi Party’s election symbol. The love and respect you have shown will translate into votes for the broom, ensuring victory.”
I can say with certainty that Delhi will once again have an AAP government. BJP will face defeat on all 70 seats: Akhilesh Yadav
He added, “I can say with certainty that Delhi will once again have an AAP government. BJP will face defeat on all 70 seats, and AAP’s good governance will triumph over BJP’s misgovernance. This broom, this election symbol, and this Aam Aadmi Party are once again receiving the support and cooperation of the people to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party.”
Arvind Kejriwal’s work speaks for itself through his schools, hospitals, electricity-water infrastructure: Akhilesh Yadav
The SP Chief continued, “The work they have done speaks for itself. Their development is evident—providing free electricity to the poor, addressing healthcare concerns through Mohalla Clinics, ensuring water availability, and making fundamental and historic changes in the education sector. These decisions have benefited the poor and the common people of Delhi immensely. These initiatives are not just being recognized in the country but across the world. People want to study this model and implement it in their own regions.”
People of Delhi are wise and will not fall for BJP’s deception; they know AAP will ensure they save Rs 25,000 per month: Akhilesh Yadav
He added, “Do you want these schemes to continue? Or do you want to cast your vote in a way that harms your own interests? Now, it is even being heard that BJP leaders themselves are saying that they will not shut down the schemes introduced by Arvind Kejriwal Ji and the Aam Aadmi Party. So, think about it—these people are afraid of the schemes. They are scared of the path of development. That is why no vote should go to waste. Every single vote should be cast for the broom symbol and the Aam Aadmi Party to form the government. The people of Delhi are wise and will not fall for BJP’s deception. They know that as long as the Aam Aadmi Party is in power, they will continue to receive these benefits. These benefits amount to thousands, even up to ₹25,000, and the people will not allow these benefits to be taken away from their families. The people will not let these schemes be snatched from them.”
Congratulate AAP for continuously standing strong against a party like the BJP: Akhilesh Yadav
He concluded, “Once again, the Aam Aadmi Party government is going to be formed in Delhi. I extend my congratulations to them for continuously standing strong against a party like the BJP with the support of their organization and the people.”
AAP is a party that works, while the BJP is only focused on abusing others: Arvind Kejriwal
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal began his address at the roadshow by sincerely thanking Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav for extending his support and presence. “The tremendous support we are receiving is because—the Aam Aadmi Party is a party that works, while the Bharatiya Janata Party is only focused on abusing others. They have nothing to show for the past ten years, nor can they explain what they will do in the next five years. Their only agenda is to criticize Kejriwal 24/7!”We have a plan, a team, and leadership. BJP has nothing: Arvind Kejriwal
He added, “We have a plan, a team, and leadership. On the other hand, BJP has no CM face, no planning, no agenda—nothing. When you ask them what they will do, their only response is: “Kejriwal, Kejriwal.” This will not help anyone!”
Since our government came to power, we have been developing unauthorised colonies to help migrant population: Arvind Kejriwal
He went on to explain to the SP Chief that a large number of people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar come to Delhi and most of them live in unauthorized colonies, which used to be in terrible condition. “These are hardworking people who settle in these colonies. Since our government came to power, we have been developing these areas—building roads, drains, streets, providing water, electricity, and sewage systems. However, much more work remains, and we are committed to completing it.”
Addressing the public, he concluded, “This time, Congress and BJP are having an “ILU ILU” moment! Beware! It’s very dangerous! Do not vote for Congress, because voting for Congress means helping BJP win! And if BJP comes to power, they will take away all your benefits. They will turn your life into a living hell!”
Arvind Kejriwal addresses massive Jansabha in Mundka; says power cuts are almost non-existent in Delhi
After his roadshow, Arvind Kejriwal addressed a Jansabha in Mundka. There, he said, “I am very grateful to you. Over the past ten years, the people of Delhi—all of you—have given us a lot of love, affection, and immense trust. Ten years ago, you entrusted me with the responsibility of Delhi. Since then, we have been working tirelessly, day and night, for Delhi. We’ve tried our best and provided many facilities for you all.” Emphasizing his background as an engineer, he shared how his technical expertise has played a pivotal role in addressing critical issues such as electricity, education, healthcare, and public transportation. Talking about Delhi’s electricity achievements, he said, “Today, Delhi is the only city in the entire country where electricity is available 24 hours a day. Power cuts are almost non-existent.” He recalled how Delhi previously suffered from 6-8 hours of daily power cuts, forcing residents to rely on inverters and generators. “Today, inverters and generators have become obsolete in the city and yet Delhi has the cheapest electricity in the country.”
BJP governs 20 states, but not even one of them has 24-hour electricity: Arvind Kejriwal
Criticizing the BJP’s performance in other states, Arvind Kejriwal added, “The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) governs 20 states, but not even one of them has 24-hour electricity. You can call your relatives and friends in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Chhatisgarh or even Gujarat—where they’ve had a government for 30 years—and still, they haven’t been able to provide 24-hour electricity. Only in Delhi you get 24×7 power.”
If you press the wrong button, as soon as you reach home, you’ll find the electricity gone: Arvind Kejriwal
Warning the public about the potential consequences of voting for the BJP, he said, “If you press the wrong button, Delhi will again face power cuts of 6–8 hours. If you press the lotus button (BJP’s symbol), as soon as you reach home, you’ll find the electricity gone. But if you press the right button, the electricity will continue 24 hours a day. Otherwise you will have to buy inverters and generators. To BJP and Congress supporters I say that I give uninterrupted supply to your houses too. Imagine what will happen if I go out of power and your parties come in, can you afford to leave your children to suffer without electricity?”
If you press the wrong button, you’ll get ₹5,000 electricity bills, and Delhi will no longer be livable for you: Arvind Kejriwal
Explaining the affordability of electricity in Delhi, he stated, “Today, in Delhi, you get 24-hour electricity, and 200 units are free. Even if you consume 400 units in Delhi, the bill comes to ₹800. In BJP-ruled states, if you use 400 units, the bill is ₹4,000-5,000. Even the poorest person living in a one-room house is paying ₹5,000 in electricity bills. If you press the wrong button, you’ll get ₹5,000 electricity bills, and Delhi will no longer be livable for you. BJP has already said they will stop free electricity. But if you press the broom button (AAP’s symbol), you’ll get free electricity and 24-hour supply.”
AAP revolutionised schools in Delhi, if wrong step can hamper your child’s future: Arvind Kejriwal
Highlighting the transformation of government schools in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal said, “Government schools in Delhi, which were in terrible condition earlier, have now become excellent. Children from poor families are now becoming engineers and doctors. The results of our efforts have exceeded my expectations. I am educated, I am engineer, I understand the value of education, which is why I ensured quality education for all. Look after your children, make them study. We’ll ensure they enter college and later get employment too.”
Taking a dig at BJP-ruled states, he remarked, “In all the 20 states where BJP is in power, pick any state and call to ask—the condition of government schools is so bad, they are running on taat-pattis and tin sheds. With great difficulty, we have improved Delhi’s government schools together. If you press the wrong button on the 5th, all the schools will be ruined.”
BJP wants to shut Mohalla Clinics in Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal
Talking about healthcare initiatives in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal said, “We’ve set up Mohalla Clinics across Delhi, where people receive free medical treatment, free tests, and free medicines. People used to spend a significant amount on medicines and illnesses every month, but now they are saving that money.” Criticizing BJP’s manifesto, he added, “BJP leaders are so shameless. They released a manifesto in which they stated that if their government comes to power, they will shut down Mohalla Clinics. Tell me, why? Mohalla Clinics treat the common man. Openly and shamelessly, they are saying they will shut down Mohalla Clinics. So, if you press the wrong button, all Mohalla Clinics will be shut down.”
Free buses helping women break barriers, but BJP wants to shut them too: Arvind Kejriwal
Reflecting on the initiatives for women, Arvind Kejriwal explained, “We’ve made bus travel free for women in Delhi. This has made life much easier for women. Women can now travel long distances for work, and our daughters can attend college without any difficulty.” Sharing a real-life example, he said, “I know several girls whose education had stopped earlier due to financial issues, but now they can pursue their dreams. If you press the wrong button, BJP will stop free buses.”
Jhaadu brings along Mata Lakshmi, AAP will bring prosperity: Arvind Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal further urged, “Our symbol, Jhaadu (the broom), is very sacred. The broom is associated with Mata Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. Similarly, if you press the Jhaadu Button on the EVM, you get prosperity, you get free electricity, water, healthcare, education, and free bus travel for women.”
First initiative after winning will be implementation of Mahila Samman Yojana: Arvind Kejriwal
Introducing his guarantees, he announced, “After winning the elections, our biggest initiative will be the Mahila Samman Yojana. We will deposit ₹2,100 in women’s accounts every month.” Countering BJP’s criticism of this initiative, he remarked, “BJP says I’m instilling bad habits into women by doing so. But in reality, they are gaining financial independence.”
Arvind Kejriwal humorously recounted a conversation with another woman, who said she’d spend ₹2,000 on buying two suits and the remaining ₹100 on Gol Gappas, adding, “I asked her how she would go? She said, “By the bus, it’s already free!”
Sanjeevani for elders; free bus travel & 50% on metro for students; free electricity-water benefit for tenants: Arvind Kejriwal
He added, “As for our elders, I will ensure free treatment for all of you, whether in government or private hospitals. We will introduce the Sanjeevani Yojana to provide healthcare for our elders. Whether you’re school or college students, just like women enjoy free bus travel, students will also have free bus travel. Additionally, we will provide a 50% concession on metro fares for students. We will also introduce a scheme for tenants. Until now, tenants have not benefited from the free electricity and water provisions we provide. We will implement a scheme so that tenants also start receiving these benefits.”
We will replace all old sewer lines on a war footing: Arvind Kejriwal
He further noted that there were sewer issues in many areas. “I’ve learned that several sewer lines in Delhi have become outdated. These people got sewer lines choked, threw boulders in gutters to block them. Within one month we will clean this up. And in one year, we will replace all old sewer lines on a war footing so that people don’t face these problems anymore. We will also open the ration card quota for you to get your cards made.”
My top priority will be to arrange employment for our youth: Arvind Kejriwal
Talking about unemployment, Arvind Kejriwal said with emotion, “It pains me to see our youth struggle for employment. It feels like my own children are struggling. Despite being educated, they aren’t getting jobs or opportunities. If they don’t get jobs in time, they risk falling into bad company. Once they enter the world of crime, it becomes difficult to bring them back. In the next five years, my top priority will be to eliminate unemployment from Delhi. I’ve already instructed my team to focus on this. I have an excellent team—highly educated and honest individuals like Atishi, Manish Sisodia, Raghav Chadha, Sanjay Singh, Gopal Rai, Satyendar Jain, Saurabh Bharadwaj, and many more. They will all work around ways to develop more jobs in Delhi.”
I am a Baniya’s son—I’ll manage the funds and complete all the work: Arvind Kejriwal
Responding to skepticism about funding, he assured, “Many people ask me, “Kejriwal Ji, where will the money come from? How will you manage such funding?” I tell them, “I am a Baniya’s son. Don’t worry about the funds. All that matters is enjoying the fruit, not counting the seeds. Trust me, I’ll manage the funds and complete all the work just as I ensured free electricity, water, education, healthcare. In fact to the BJP, I say, I will ensure your sisters and daughters too get the allowance from the government.”
BJP will end free electricity, free water, government schools, Mohalla Clinics, and free bus travel for women: Arvind Kejriwal
Criticizing BJP’s approach, he warned, “The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has already announced that if they come to power, they will end free electricity, free water, government schools, Mohalla Clinics, and free bus travel for women.”
AAP will help families save ₹25,000 each month: Arvind Kejriwal
Emphasizing the financial impact of free public services, Arvind Kejriwal stated, “Press the right button. We’ve improved schools so much that the education of one child saves a family about ₹5,000 a month. For two children, that’s ₹10,000 saved. Add ₹5,000 saved from electricity bills, ₹5,000 from free healthcare, ₹2,500 from free buses, and ₹2,000 from water bills. You will save ₹25,000 each month. If BJP comes in, you will lose ₹25,000 each month. Half of us don’t earn this much in a month.”
BJP gives your tax money to its billionaire friends: Arvind Kejriwal
Challenging BJP’s stance on public welfare, Arvind Kejriwal questioned, “Why do these BJP people want to stop free electricity? Why do they want to stop free water? Why do they want to shut down all the schools? Have you ever thought about why they want to stop all these facilities?” Answering his own question, he explained, “Every person pays taxes, whether you know it or not. Even a beggar pays GST when they buy a box of matches. When you buy milk, paneer, groceries, spices, or anything, GST is included. Even if you earn ₹3,000 per month, ₹500-700 of it goes to taxes. Governments collect huge amounts of money through taxes. BJP wants to take away all your benefits. The AAP government spends this public money on you—on free buses, schools, hospitals, and metro lines.”
He asserted that BJP’s priorities lie elsewhere: “What does the BJP do with your tax money? They give it to their 400–500 billionaire friends as loans and then forgive those loans in 4–5 years.”
BJP forgave loans worth ₹46,000 crore for their friend; when I make bus travel free for women, I spend only ₹400 crore: Arvind Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal contrasted this with his government’s expenditures, saying, “Just three days ago, there was news that one of their billionaire friends took a loan of ₹47,000 crore, and ₹46,000 crore of that was forgiven. When I make bus travel free for 1 crore women in Delhi, I spend only ₹400 crore. For that, they hurl so much abuse at me.”
This election is about deciding whether government money should be spent on public services or on a few wealthy people: Arvind Kejriwal
He added, “The Aam Aadmi Party is your party—the party of the middle class and the poor. The BJP, on the other hand, is the party of the billionaires and the rich. As per RBI in total they’ve waived off loans worth 10 lakh crores. But in the name of savings, they stopped the senior citizen subsidy in railways. They will take away Delhi’s money too and give it to their friends.” Arvind Kejriwal added that this election is about deciding whether government money should be spent on public services or on a few wealthy people.
BJP has planned to demolish all the Jhuggis in Delhi within a year if they come to power: Arvind Kejriwal
Speaking directly to slum dwellers, he warned, “Do not mistakenly vote for BJP. They have already planned to demolish all the Jhuggis in Delhi within a year if they come to power. The land on which your slums are built is worth billions of rupees. They want to hand it over to builders and their billionaire friends like they did in Dharavi, Mumbai. If you press the lotus button, they will throw you out on the streets. As long as I am here, I will fight for you. Until you get a permanent house, I will protect your Jhuggi.”
BJP deceiving Jat community, gives reservation to Rajasthan’s Jats but not Delhi’s: Arvind Kejriwal
He said, “The OBC community in Delhi consists of 54 castes, but the central government’s list only includes 50 of these castes. The Jat community in Delhi receives no reservation from the central government. While the Jat community from Rajasthan is eligible for reservations, this is not the case for the Jat community in Delhi. If you want to admit your child to Delhi University, the Jat community from Rajasthan can get admission, but the Jat community from Delhi faces exclusion from reservation. Similarly, if you’re from the Jat community in Delhi and seek employment, people from Rajasthan can secure jobs, but not those from Delhi.”
He added, “Until today, the BJP has deceived us in these matters. Just a few days ago, members of the Jat community came to me. I promised to fight for their rights. BJP may say that I fight a lot, but I will keep fighting for my people, no matter the challenges.”
BJP poisoned Delhi’s waters through Yamuna: Arvind Kejriwal
Raising a shocking issue, he stated, “I want to address something very disturbing. The BJP has crossed all limits of dirty politics. In Delhi, we receive drinking water from Haryana’s Yamuna and Uttar Pradesh’s Ganga. The Haryana government deliberately poisoned our water by adding ammonia. If that contaminated water had reached people’s homes, many would have fallen sick, some could have even died. They are threatening me, saying I am lying. Amit Shah and Virendra Sachdeva were singing the same song and then Rahul Gandhi joined them too. Today I have sent bottles of that toxic water to them. If they dare to, they should drink the water they want the people of Delhi to drink.”
He added, “Until I am here, do not worry—I will never send poisoned water to your homes under any circumstances. I am not scared of jail, I just came from there. Today they’ve sent me notices from ECI, Police and god knows where else. Do whatever you want, I will stand by my people.” Addressing the public he added that if they vote for the BJP it will make them drink the same toxic water.
In the next five years, we’ll ensure every home in Delhi receives clean water round the clock: Arvind Kejriwal
Making another announcement for the residents, he stated, “Recently, we inaugurated a project in Pandav Nagar, a colony in Rajinder Nagar constituency, to provide clean tap water 24/7. You can drink directly from the tap because of its quality. The pilot project was successful. Now, in the next five years, we’ll ensure every home in Delhi receives clean water round the clock. Like we eradicated inverters and generators, we will eradicate ROs, motor pumps and water tanks.”
AAP is forming the government, you must elect an AAP MLA: Arvind Kejriwal
Reflecting on the previous election results, Arvind Kejriwal shared, “Five years ago, out of 70 seats, the people of Delhi gave us 62 seats. Eight seats remained. In these eight seats, BJP’s MLAs won. These eight MLAs from Karawal Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, etc., fought with me a lot, abused me a lot, but did not get any work done. They did not allow any Mohalla Clinic to be built. I called all eight BJP MLAs. I said, I will build Mohalla Clinics for you. They said no. I said, I will fix your roads. They said no. I said, I will fix your sewers. They said no. I asked why. They said, you will get the credit. I said, take all the credit, but why are you keeping the public in trouble?”
He urged voters to elect MLAs from AAP this time, saying, “Everyone knows that the Aam Aadmi Party is forming the government in Delhi again. Even the BJP admits this. It’s possible that we may win a few more seats this time. But if the AAP is forming the government, you must elect an AAP MLA. Ending with a strong warning, he said, “Do not make the mistake of voting for BJP, or you will regret it for five years.”
Don’t waste your vote by choosing Congress: Arvind Kejriwal
In a sharp attack, Arvind Kejriwal said, “Some people here are thinking about Congress. Why are you wasting your vote by giving it to Congress? Congress is not going to win. It will only cut votes. Internally, Congress and BJP have made a deal. They are fighting the elections together. But they are not doing it for Delhi’s progress; they are doing it to defeat the Aam Aadmi Party. Never vote to defeat someone—vote to make someone win. The Aam Aadmi Party will work for you. Don’t waste your vote by giving it to Congress.”
For me, there is no BJP, no Congress, no Aam Aadmi Party. For me, all two crore people of Delhi are my own. Everyone is mine: Arvind Kejriwal
He added, “Congress is saying they will shift all votes to BJP. Is it your father’s vote? How can you shift votes? Are voters your slaves that you will shift them as you wish? I want to tell my Congress brothers—before casting your vote, look at your children, look at your home. It is Kejriwal who will work for you. Neither Congress nor BJP will help you. Kejriwal will secure your children’s future, balance your household budget, provide 24-hour electricity, make electricity free, and ensure free healthcare for your family. Then why are you still chanting “Congress, Congress”? Just give your vote to AAP. Similarly, I want to tell BJP supporters—why are you stuck with BJP? Just give your votes here. I will work for everyone. For me, there is no BJP, no Congress, no Aam Aadmi Party. For me, all two crore people of Delhi are my own. Everyone is mine.”
Chants of ‘Phir Laayenge Kejriwal’ Echo Through the Streets
The presence of the two leaders sparked immense enthusiasm among the public. Supporters, holding AAP’s signature symbol—the broom—marched forward, chanting Phir Laayenge Kejriwal (We Will Bring Kejriwal Back). Many attendees were seen capturing photos and videos of Arvind Kejriwal and Akhilesh Yadav, documenting the high-energy atmosphere.
AAP Supporters Dance to the Beats of Drums and Dhol
Thousands of supporters walked alongside the convoy, dancing to the rhythm of the Phir Laayenge Kejriwal song. The electrifying beats of drums and dhols set the tone for a jubilant celebration, as people joyfully danced and cheered, adding to the festive spirit of the roadshow.
