All-Party Meeting Convened Ahead of Budget Session of Parliament

New Delhi, Jan 30 ,2025 – An all-party meeting was convened at the Parliament Annexe building here on Thursday in preparation for the Budget session, set to begin on January 31.

The meeting was chaired by Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Kiren Rijiju, JP Nadda, Arjun Ram Meghwal, and L. Murugan.

The Budget session will commence on January 31 and is scheduled to conclude on April 4. The Union Budget will be presented on February 1.

After the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju addressed the press, stating, “We have urged all parties to cooperate in ensuring the smooth functioning of the house during this Budget Session, which is also the first session of the year.”

He also mentioned that President Droupadi Murmu would address both houses of Parliament on January 31, followed by the presentation of the Economic Survey. The Union Budget will be presented on February 1, with subsequent discussions on the President’s address and the Budget.

Rijiju added, “Tomorrow, the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), along with the Rajya Sabha Chairman and Lok Sabha Speaker, will decide on the duration of the discussions on the President’s address and the Budget.”

Leaders from various political parties, including Jairam Ramesh, K. Suresh, and Gaurav Gogoi (Congress), TMC MPs Sudip Bandyopadhyay and Derek O’Brien, along with RSP MP NK Premachandran, BJD MP Sasmit Patra, DMK MP TR Baalu, SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav, JMM MP Mahua Maji, and several others, attended the meeting.

The Parliament will observe an inter-session break from February 14, with both houses resuming sittings on March 10.
