New Delhi, January 15, 2025: New Delhi’s journey towards the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 has officially begun, with AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal leading the way, buoyed by the faith and blessings of thousands of his sisters. Amid an unparalleled display of public support and fervor, Arvind Kejriwal, today filed his nomination from the New Delhi assembly constituency, in presence of his family and supporters. After filing his papers, he expressed his faith in people of Delhi picking Politics of Purpose & Service once again, saying their love and blessings have given him strength and inspiration to work with full dedication and spirit.
The day’s centerpiece was the grand padyatra, a massive procession that began at the Aam Aadmi Party headquarters and culminated at Jamnagar House, where Arvind Kejriwal filed his nomination. The march took the shape of a monumental event that turned the streets of Lutyens’ Delhi into a throbbing artery of solidarity and collective resolve. The padyatra saw thousands of supporters—predominantly women—taking to the streets with an energy that was both contagious and inspiring. Chanting slogans, waving banners, and dancing to the beats of campaign songs, they created an atmosphere reminiscent of a grand festival. Every corner of the iconic boulevards of central Delhi resonated with chants of “Arvind Kejriwal Zindabad” and “Phir Layenge Kejriwal”.
The women, whom Arvind Kejriwal affectionately refers to as his sisters and mothers, formed the backbone of this extraordinary show of support. Carrying banners with messages of hope, they walked alongside their leader with a resolve to ensure another resounding victory for him. The sprawling lawns of India Gate and the surrounding avenues bore witness to this historic moment, as an ocean of supporters rallied together, their collective voice a testament to their faith in the Arvind Kejriwal’s politics of service and purpose.
On this occasion, Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, along with their son, daughter, and sister, were also present. Additionally, Aam Aadmi Party’s National General Secretary (Organization) and Member of Parliament Dr. Sandeep Pathak, former Delhi Mayor Dr. Shelly Oberoi, MLA Rakhi Birla, party leader Preeti Menon, Councillor Sarika Chaudhary, and other senior leaders, were in attendance.
The day began with Arvind Kejriwal and his family paying obeisance at the Maharishi Valmiki Mandir and the Pracheen Hanuman Mandir of Connaught Place. Speaking at the Valmiki Mandir, Kejriwal stated, “My wife, son, daughter, sister, and I have sought the blessings of Lord Valmiki. From here, we will visit the Hanuman Temple and then I am going to file my nomination.” At the Hanuman Mandir, he reiterated his faith, saying, “We have taken Lord Hanuman’s blessings. From here, we will go to the party office, and then we will all proceed together to file my nomination.”
From the Aam Aadmi Party headquarters, Arvind Kejriwal flanked by his family embarked on a massive padyatra to Jamnagar House, where he filed his nomination papers. Thousands of women lined the streets, carrying banners, ensuring their slogans were reverberating across the capital as they marched behind their brother to secure his victory.
After filing his nomination, Arvind Kejriwal expressed his gratitude on X: “The love and blessings given by the people of Delhi in the last 10 years have given me the strength and inspiration to work with full dedication and the spirit of service. I have full faith that the people of Delhi will choose the politics of purpose this time too.”
He also stated, “On one side, there’s a party that works, and on the other, there’s a party that only indulges in abuses. Abuses bring no benefits. Abuses lead to no progress or development. We are contesting this election based on what we have done in the last 10 years, what we aim to achieve in the next five years, and our vision for Delhi. This is our agenda for the election. On the other hand, the BJP spends all day from morning till evening hurling abuses at us. Therefore, I appeal to the people of Delhi to vote for education, healthcare, electricity, water, roads, and all the work that has been done. We have accomplished a lot and have much more to do. I am confident that people will come out and vote overwhelmingly for work.”
Arvind Kejriwal added, “I hope that just like in 2015 and 2020, when the people of Delhi placed their trust in us and gave the Aam Aadmi Party a massive mandate, this time too, they will vote for us with the same faith and give us an equally overwhelming majority. We are running a positive campaign. We are informing people about the work we’ve done over the last 10 years: improving schools and hospitals, providing free medical treatment, establishing Mohalla Clinics, repairing roads, ensuring 24-hour electricity and making it free, fixing water supply, and making bus fares free for women. “
He talked about how under the Mahila Samman Yojana, every woman in Delhi will receive ₹2,100 per month and through the Sanjeevani Scheme, all medical treatments for senior citizens above the age of 60 will be made free. “We have a clear vision for Delhi, but BJP has neither a Chief Ministerial face nor leadership. The BJP has not communicated what it plans to do for Delhi or what it has achieved in the last 10 years. BJP only spends its time abusing me, but abusing me will not lead to Delhi’s or the country’s progress. The people of Delhi are watching, and they will vote accordingly.”

This will allow us to continue our work in education, healthcare, electricity, water, roads, and providing ₹2100 per day to women.”
Arvind Kejriwal continued with a call to action: “I appeal to all my two crore brothers and sisters of Delhi: Today, your brother, your son, is going to file his nomination. May we achieve the kind of historic victory in 2025 that the people of Delhi made possible in 2015 and 2020 for the Aam Aadmi Party.”
