Satyendra Kumar Gupta IPS assumes responsibility of new Commissioner of Police of Faridabad

Faridabad – December 28: After being nominated for the post of commissioner of police Faridabad, Satyendra Kumar Gupta IPS assumed the charge of his new responsibility as the commissioner of police Faridabad this Saturday. Earlier he was in the same position of commissioner of police at Sonipat. On assuming his charge at Faridabad Satyendra Kumar Gupta was warmly welcomed by Joint Police Commissioner of Faridabad, Rajesh Duggal. Also present on the occasion was Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) Abhishek Jorwal and other police officials.
Satyendra Kumar Gupta, an IPS officer, hails from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. After completing his B.Tech, he joined the Indian Police Service in 2004. In recognition of his bravery, he was awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry in 2016, and in 2023, he received the Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
During his service of two decades Gupta has held several important positions that include his working as the Superintendent of Police in various districts of Haryana such as Sonipat, Sirsa, Bhiwani, Fatehabad, and Hisar. He also served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) in Gurgaon and worked in the Intelligence Department. In 2022, he was promoted to the rank of Inspector General and served as the IG of Karnal Range. After continuing for more than two years in this position, he was appointed as the Police Commissioner of Sonipat.
After assuming the new responsibility he held a meeting with police officers and station in-charges to discuss the strategies. He emphasized that his top priority would be to combat cybercrimes through increased awareness and precise technical actions. He also outlined measures to improve the police presence and reduce crimes against women. Further, he promised to take all necessary steps to prevent crime, assuring that criminals would not be spared. He also stated that the traffic system in the district would be improved.
Known for his friendly approach towards the public and fearsome reputation among criminals, the newly appointed Police Commissioner is committed to ensuring swift justice for the citizens and taking stern action against law breakers. Extending his New Year greetings to the citizens, he urged everyone to celebrate peacefully. He assured that Faridabad police had put in place robust security arrangements and warned that mischief-makers would not be tolerated. He also appealed to the public not to drive under the influence of alcohol.
