UPSC is reforming its examination system in the wake of Pooja Khedkar ‘cheating’ case, Facial recognition technology will be introduced in the overhaul to enhance security and verify the identities of candidates more effectively

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced plans to implement advanced digital technology to improve the security of its examinations. The UPSC aims to deploy state-of-the-art biometric systems to verify and cross-check the biometric details of candidates. This technology will also be used to monitor candidate activities during exams to prevent impersonation, cheating, and other fraudulent practices.

To facilitate this upgrade, the UPSC has invited tenders for the procurement of these advanced digital biometric technologies. The initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure the integrity of the examination process and uphold the standards of fairness and transparency. The new systems will help in accurate identification and tracking of candidates, thus addressing past issues of security breaches and irregularities.
