AAP Condemns LG’s Approval for Probe Into Satyendar Jain; Alleges BJP’s Political Vendetta

New Delhi, July 6, 2024 : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly criticized the Lieutenant Governor’s decision to greenlight an investigation into Satyendar Jain, asserting it as yet another attempt by the BJP to obstruct the Delhi government’s initiatives.

Accusing the BJP of orchestrating malicious conspiracies to hinder the AAP’s governance efforts, AAP spokespersons pointed out the mounting legal actions against their party leaders. They highlighted that over 200 cases have been filed against AAP Ministers and MLAs, with several top leaders, including Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, having been incarcerated in the past decade.

In a scathing statement, AAP representatives criticized the establishment of the ‘Shunglu Committee’ and the prolonged scrutiny of AAP government files, citing these actions as deliberate efforts to stifle administrative progress. They emphasized that despite extensive investigations, no evidence of corruption has been uncovered.

The AAP further denounced what they labeled as the BJP’s fabrication of a ‘Liquor Scam,’ which has allegedly yielded no substantiated corruption findings despite a detailed 50,000-page chargesheet and examination of numerous witnesses.

Since assuming power, AAP leaders claimed, their government has faced continuous interference from the BJP-led central government, citing instances like the enactment of the GNCTD Act contrary to Supreme Court rulings. They accused the central government of obstructing public welfare projects by withholding funds for Mohalla Clinics and essential medicines for government hospitals.

“This marks the 201st case against us, continuing the BJP’s strategy to paralyze the Delhi government,” stated AAP representatives, asserting their party’s commitment to honesty in governance despite relentless political challenges.

The AAP’s statement underscores escalating tensions between the ruling party in Delhi and the BJP-led central government, raising concerns about the political environment’s impact on administrative efficiency and public service delivery.
