Child Assaulted Over Alleged Guava Theft; Accused Booked After Video Sparks Outrage

In the video, the child appears visibly distressed, crying and urging the person recording to intervene. Meanwhile, the accused can be heard defending his actions, insisting the punishment was justified. The individual filming the incident questions the man’s behaviour, highlighting the severity of the situation.
A bystander, identified as Rohit, promptly informed both the police and the child helpline after witnessing the incident. According to his account, the accused later expressed regret and apologised to the girl’s family.
Following the complaint, law enforcement officials initiated action by summoning the accused, who is reported to be a retired Army personnel. Authorities also recorded statements from the victim’s family and ensured the child underwent a medical examination.
Police have registered a case under applicable legal sections, and further inquiry into the matter is currently ongoing.
