New Delhi, September 19, 2025: The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting is set to launch Special Campaign 5.0 from 2nd to 31st October 2025 across the Main Secretariat and its media units nationwide. The initiative aims to enhance workplace cleanliness, improve office efficiency, and reduce pending references.

In preparation for the campaign, all media units and field offices have been instructed to finalize targets, streamline record management, dispose of outdated materials and e-waste, and undertake office beautification drives. Nodal officers have been appointed to oversee the implementation of the campaign.
On 12th September, Secretary (I&B) Sanjay Jaju reviewed preparations with the heads of media units, emphasizing the need for timely action to meet the campaign’s objectives.
The Ministry has seen substantial success in previous campaigns. Since the launch of Special Campaigns in 2021, revenue generation has reached ₹33.39 crore, 10.26 lakh kilograms of scrap have been cleared, 12.9 lakh square feet of office space has been freed, and nearly 1.69 lakh physical files have been weeded out. Between Special Campaign 2.0 and August 2025, media units conducted nearly 5,000 outdoor campaigns and cleaned over 12,000 spots.
Several innovative practices have emerged during past campaigns. SRFTI Kolkata transformed waste land into a garden, DDK Patna repurposed materials from closed units to build decorative huts, and All India Radio Delhi installed sanitation vending machines for women. In Thiruvananthapuram, AI Radio conducted extensive garbage clean-up across a 35-acre campus.
With Special Campaign 5.0, the Ministry aims to further strengthen office hygiene, efficient record management, and workplace beautification while continuing to institutionalize the principles of Swachhata.
