Faridabad, 15th December 2023- The proud young Indian pugilists who won medals in various categories at the recently held International Boxing Association, IBA Junior World Boxing Championships in Yerevan ,Armenia were felicitated at Delhi Public School,
Greater Faridabad on Friday. The event was organized by the Delhi Amateur boxing Association. Gold medal winner Akanksha in 80 kilogram category, Akanksha , silver medal winner Prachi in 60 kilogram category, bronze medal winner Krittika in 75 kilogram category and Sarthi Saini, a participant boxer in 60 kilogram category were honoured on this occasion.
In his remarks, the President of DABA and Pro Vice Chairman of DPS, Faridabad, Rohit Jainendra Jaon said that the Indian boxers have made the
nation proud and rightfully deserve the appreciation of 1.4 billion people. He called upon the millennials to take inspiration from the young winners and bring more such laurels for the country.
The medal winning young boxers expressed their thanks to DPS Greater Faridabad for felicitation and encouragement. They also shared the stories of their hard work for the medal and said they look forward for the upcoming boxing events and work harder to bring glory for India in the future.
The event was attended by several dignitaries and the parents of the medal winning pugilists. All the members of Delhi Amateur Boxing Association (DABA) including Neeraj Jain, Moksh Gujrani, DN Yadav, Neeraj Bhatt, Ajit Choudhary, PK Tuli as well as Dinesh Kumar, Tarun Verma, Pritam Tokas were present as guests of honour and Than Singh Yadav was also present. Other dignitaries including Asian Para Games 2022 Hangzhou (China) gold medalist Pranab Surma, professional Indian boxer Sagar Narwat encouraged the children. DPS Greater Faridabad wore a festive look on this occasion with a series of programs organized to mark the event. These include the dance performances, fire stunt, and much more for the entertainment of the students and the medal winners.
